USB outlet question??

Whats going on guys, I just bought an 08 E92 M3 with no I-Drive. I see i have a usb outlet in the storage area but when i put a cable in and switch to usb on the screen my music does not work. Anyone know?

Format an USB drive in FAT32 and put music on it.

USB playback for iPhone/Android only worked for 2011+ I believe. You'll need to use an Aux cable
