Laguna Seca with RD Sport Front Sways

I had a recent track event at Laguna Seca last weekend with the RD Sport Front sway bars installed and a new set of Advan AD08's. I could immediately feel the difference with the turn in's with less roll. I was also able to trail brake much smoother and it wasn't as smooshy as stock. I was using the middle setting/holes which felt just right for me in both comfort and sport settings.
I had more confidence in the turn in and grip than my previous event, but then began to become less confidence in my brake setup (stock) now that I was able to carry much more more speed.

You can tell from the hardwood floors that the install was done at Alekshop I'll get the rear sways installed when I get a chance to pickup the Dinan suspension kit.

I was able to keep and tail a 911 GT3 and eventually got a point by.. I was in the novice group, but it still felt good, lol.

Nice video. Thanks.

Was your instructor telling you to aim for the third telephone pole when you go under start/finish? Another hint is to stay about 2/3rds to the right as you go under start/finish. With those two hints you can stay foot to the floor all the way over the crest of T1.

Yee! Hah!

Do you think adding the rear RD roll bar will decrease body roll but might not let the inside of the turn rear wheel stay planted? I'm wondering since BMW didn't design this car with one and as such, Dinan only makes a front anti-roll bar. It's one of my options I'm looking at.

I'd think the rear RD roll bar would help on the exit and keep the rear wheels planted as you accelerate through your exit. The Dinan front sways are 28.5mm with only one setting.. the RD Sports are 30.2mm Front Bar Thickness and 25.5mm Rear Bar Thickness with the ability to change the stiffness settings. And you get both front and rear for the price of one Dinan sway.

RD sway bars are definitely a good buy. I got a set on my E90 and no regrets at all! love the feeling of the car now

BTW, nice driving! I remember when I tried driving on Laguna Seca, 1st time down corkscrew I spun out. not a great feeling lol

The M3 comes with anti roll bars front and rear. These are just replacements for stock... or did I not understand what you meant?

The RD sport bars look nice, and appear to follow the factory contours pretty well. I doubt you'll be picking up the inside wheel given how much droop travel the suspension has.

Maybe I'm nuts, I thought the M3 stock does not have a rear anti-roll bar. I should know since I've had it on a lift a few times.

Anyway, so I'm not 100% sure yet if I want to go with an entire Dinan set up, maybe I should leave it stock and add the RD bars Front & back? I'm just not comfortable with the idea of modifying the suspesion. Not that I'm uncomfortable doing the work, I've done several. I'm more concerned about the performance outcome compared to stock. But many say they are very happy with the Dinan set up on the road & track.

Have dinan stg. 3 and ride and performance is definitely improved (over 5k miles on setup w/ 2 track days). Can't really comment on RD sways but dinan setup great for those wanting to retain edc.great performance upgrade not just cosmetic lowering....

This is a common misconception, because the sway bar goes above the rear subframe. It definitely has one and installing the rear is a PAIN because you need to drop the subframe. Installing the front bar is cake.

Speaking of front Sway bars, is the 335i and M3 front sway bars interchangeable? I ask because i had the H&R front on my 335i and removed it before buying the M3 and i have it sitting around. If it is interchangeable and thicker than the stock M3 it would be cool to install it. Just wondering if you guys think it'll work. OP, car looks GREAT in those pics!
