Hey guys,
I recently installed a Corsa Muffler on my 2011 E90 M3. The sound was phenomenal with the stock x-pipe (best e9x m3 Exhaust IMO), but I wanted some more volume. I picked up a local test pipe+oem x pipe setup from a forum member and have been loving it ever since. Here are the setups which I have had first hand experience with so you can understand how I am basing this system as being the best I have heard or ran: 1. Full Akrapovic Evo Exhaust 2. AE Performance Exhaust with Test Pipes 3. OEM Exhaust Mod (ACM Bypass Style) with Test Pipes 4. OEM Exhaust Mod (ACM Bypass Style) with OEM X-Pipe 5. Meisterschaft GT with Challenge Sport X-Pipe (closest comparison to my current Corsa setup) 6. OEM Exhaust 7. OEM Exhaust Mod (Perforated Style) 8. Corsa Exhaust with Test Pipes Anyways, I finally had some time to make and edit a proper exhaust video, so here we go! Specs: 2011 BMW E90 M3 DCT TMS Test Pipes UUC Corsa Exhaust Custom 90mm Tips Filmed with GoPro Hero 4 [outside shots] and GoPro Hero 2 w/ Audio Technica External Mic [on car] I am considering swapping to resonated test pipes in the future to reduce rasp and some volume as it is quite loud.

I haven't felt like the corsa is one of the better sounds for exhaust manufacturers out there, but paired with the test pipes it is absolutely heavenly!
(Insert obligatory does it drone question here) |

Zero drone even with the test pipes.

Interesting to see differing tastes. I recently reinstalled my unaltered oem xpipe with the Corsa rear and found it to be very quiet, so much so that I liked the stock rear better.
I've also paired it with a dual resonated ESS xpipe after watching the reviews by KitW a while back. The sound was clean and amazing up to about 4-5k rpm. IMO it became too muted on the top end when I wanted more scream. Fast forward to a couple days ago, I put in the BW race xpipe to get rid of the resonators of the ESS pipe. Otherwise, the design is very similar. This really opened up the sound across the full rev range, admittedly the extra resonators of the ESS pipe make the bottom end a much cleaner note. Personally, I prefer the raspy bark and scream of the top end better with the BW race pipe. Hope this helps to give another perspective. Your setup sounds great nontheless and the effort you put into capturing different driving conditions is appreciated! Last edited by M43S7RO; 10-12-2017 at 02:11 PM.. |

The exhaust sounds good. But the Corsa tips are terrible. I hate that slanted look.
I'm going to assume this exhaust only sounds good if you have test pipes. Otherwise it might be too quiet with the OEM x-pipe? |

That sounds fantastic! A good mix of tones, not just boomy American muscle V8 type of sounds most loud mufflers offer.
I'll have to keep my eyes out for an E92 Corsa axle-back

It is on the quieter side, but definitely still a huge improvement over stock as far as sound is concerned.

I will keep my eyes out for a Corsa exhaust from now on. I've been looking for that high pitch exotic note from the S65, the OEM exhaust mod is great but a tad too muscular still for me. |
