This is what happens if you double park...

I remember there was a thread() about how to park better to avoid scratches/dents.

NEVER DOUBLE-PARK.

yeah, I think parking in two spaces is pretty stupid too. It tempts assholes that wanna mess with your car to mess with it even more. By parking in two spaces, you show people that your car is better than theirs...and yeahh there are people like that out there. SO DON'T DOUBLE PARK!

Even if a car is double parked, it is not okay to hit it.. It is not moving, therefor the person that caused the damage was fully in control of the situation...

On topic, double parking in a common area is stupid. I double park every single time I park (if not I hug a curb, but rarely). I have never been vandalised, dinged, scratched, ect... I look for spots far away where no one other than another watchful owner would park...

In my parking lot at work, I park on the roof, taking to spaces. 50 feet away, there is a
G35 coupe taking 2 spaces diagonal, and caddilac CTS-V hugging a corner....

wow, I'm floored

even when I park far far away from the general mass, I never double park. It's just asking for some complimentary scratches and dings.

Yea, but its on the 2nd floor roof parking lot. The first floor which seems best for most people since it is covered, is packed with cars, some even parking on hazard lines and making spaces, inbetween other spaces. The second floor is secluded and only gets a a few dozen cars right by the stair way...I park far away where I know nobody would give 3 ****'s that I'm taking up 2 spaces...

Parking in two spaces where more people will be parking is asking to get keyed.

Only a real dousche with nothing to do and a cry for attention would do that though. It would be too much of a hassle to walk or even drive all the way over there just to mess with my car...

Trust me, I park my car like this every single day everywhere I go. Nothing has ever happened to my... I'll take a snap of it when I go downstairs just to show you...

If I can't find a good spot that I know will stay empty, I'll look for a spot where I can hug the curb.

I'm glad that it has worked for you in the past, but for me, living in a pretty crowded city, I've never had a chance where I feel comfortable double-parking

Is that a joke? Where is the dent/scratch? The only time I double parked was when the lines in the parking lot is not clearly drawn and I felt really bad when I got back to my car and seeing that I took two spaces hehe.

I don't think we feel comfortable parking, let alone double-parking in this city eh? Anything away from home carries a risk

Have you ever tried during the Christmas shopping rush at a mall?

yeah
yesterday I went to Canadian Tire, and the parking lot was pretty empty, it was right after work at around 5:30. So I parked my car with 3 empty spots on both sides. What do I see when I came back? a big truck parked right up against the passenger side.

I can see someone getting pissed off if you do that in a congested area, but if I park my car 5,000 feet away from the nearest store/other cars and people will get upset because I took up 2 spots with 200 other open ones around me, I never understood that. Some people need to just mind their own damn business.
