I really hope US will add that. Doubt it, but would love to pick up in Germany at a discount.

I am just guessing here but vehicles made outside of North America have a 6% duty applied to them on importation. The difference in price shown is close to 6% so i am wondering if this is a price to be applied to a car which will not be titled in Canada?

Nothing more than a guess.

I'm sorry but I don't understand anything about your response. What do you mean It's all taken care of? What is all taken care of? What do you mean I drive my CND spec car? And what does "drive before it comes" mean or refer to? Are you talking about European Delivery or something? Because I'm not.

I was just trying to understand/guess at what tourist pricing means and why it is cheaper. If you are implying that tourist pricing means ED surely it would not be $5,700 cheaper. I would think it would be more expensive.

ED doesn't include a flight or place to stay in Germany.

Does anyone know if you have to stay a minimum amount of time in Germany? I might be interested in flying there for a day, driving the car around the block and flying home.

Doubt there's a minimum. I've actually heard of stories of just what you're suggesting.

OK - first post, been lurking for a while - love this site!

How do you guys know that 'tourist pricing' is ED? Is it in fact available for the M3? (or - Is my cdn dealer BSing me?):

I asked my salesman today about it after reading this thread and he said ED is not currently being offered (said the program was suspended or something). Then he said there are rumours ED is coming back but that he didn't have any concrete info right now - of course I told him to keep me posted...?

Do dealers WANT customers to take ED? Should I call someone at BMW canada?

For background - I'm supposedly #1 at my dealership for a manual M3 'vert - I've had a deposit down for a while and placed my order when cdn pricing came out. My salesman is saying I should expect to get it in late May. If I can go to GER to get it - and save that much(!) - I'm going to burn some airmiles and go.

Thanks to anyone that can help me out!

Basically to show you that some of the results point to ED...it is ED...and I'm not sure about the dealers, but I know that it saves SOMEONE money (obviously you, but I'm talking BMW here) to do this...So you can even negotiate on the ED price!

Interesting, because I'm pretty sure that you can finance, or even lease your car and do this...

I called BMW Canada cust serv and they confirmed what my dealer said:

- the ED program is currently NOT available to Canadians at all. It will likely return, but not sure when and there aren't any details currently.

- Tourist pricing "relates to" ED price, but since the program doesn't exist right now it's not a solid price. The cust serv rep said there may be "requirements" to qualify for ED (like there are requirements to qualify for diplomat pricing) and that my dealer would have the details when and if ED returns.

So I guess we'll have to stay tuned...

So that brings the E92 base up to $69,596.30, so to me its not worth burning the airmiles on a one day trip.

But this says otherwise...

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=266139
Actually, this is for the US...but according to this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho....php?p=2095292 there will be changes to the Canadian ED program very soon, if not already.

P.S. I hope you don't mind turb, but I just quoted you in that link, so as to hear people comments on that information.
