lemon a car? do I need a lawyer?
Hi Guys, thank god my M3 is not a lemon...but I believe my Audi Q7 is....its been at the dealership for more than 2 months and they still cant figure out whats wrong with it. In the last 7 months its been at the dealership 3 times and sitting in the dealership 4 months out of 7. How do I go about on getting the manufacture to buy back my lemon? Do I need an attorney? or I can just call Audi NA myself? Any help is greatly appreciated it!

I dealt with Volkswagen with similar issues for my Girls car ,and They denied any wrongdoing. I got a Lemon law lawyer, and Volkswagen was forced to buy back the car.

I went through the entire process on my own through BMW USA on my 335. Don't rely on the dealer. In my case they pushed back on me so pursued through corporate.

Thankyou all for the suggestions and tips. I talked to couple attorneys that some of you suggested. I'm gonna go with that route. Forget the dealership, they'll just push back. If I goto Audi NA direct, they'll just drag it as long as they can. A good attorney will recover the funds within a month.

I speak from experience, I've helped several friends get out of their lemons in about 1 month tops.

My 08 m3 was a lemon, the dealer replace it with a 09 m3 and reimburse me money back also.

Btw in California the manufacturer will also pay your lawyer fee's. So don't be scared to lawyer up for a lemon law case.

My car started up then went to limp mode and then the idle was everywhere, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They tried to replace ICV(IDLE CONTROL VALVE) which was it, and also replace a bunch of other parts which didnt work either.
i just didn't care to know after 2months and wanted a new car.

i had a 2008 335i before my m3 and that thing ran great when it ran, but when it broke it BROKE. lol i was always in a rental, at least 3-4 times a month for about 4 months, when finally i got pissed and called bmw financial and went back n for with them for another month, when they finally agreed to buy it back ( before they bought it back they offered me a check for $5k for my time and trouble, which i said no to since it will probably continue to break down) they faxed me over an agreement stating they will buy it back, i did have to buy new tires since mine were almost bald, but i got the new tires went to the dealer, met with a rep and he inspected the car, and i signed off and walked away...then got buried in a new m3... lmao.
if u finance with audi, call them and dispute it, if its paid free n clear or through another finance co, get a lemon law attorney. good luck!

Why is everyone so quick to "lawyer" up ..you realize that 99% of disputes can be handled easily by yourself...just make sure you document, record and save every bit of information so that if it does come time to litigate you will be prepared..GL

If it doesn't cost you anything but a phone call and signature... why not ? It's easier than having to spend your own time on it
