Damn, this stuff works!

I don't usually post my detailing pics, because there are so many others that are way better at it than I am. But, have to say I'm pretty proud of the result today - this is the passenger door of my Jerez M, straight on reflection

You know you've done good work when your wife calls the kids down to come see

EDIT:>> Added a few more pics, outside on a cloudy day

Cheers

Thx bro. Here's what I used:
  1. Porter Cable
  2. Menzerna Power Finish on 4.5" Lake Country white pads
  3. BlackFire Wet Diamond sealant on 4.5" Lake Country black pads. Hadn't used BlackFire before, it was great - went on easily, and deepened the shine.

This is only the second time I've tried polishing myself, will definitely do it again (but damn, took a long time!). And BTW, your M looks great in your sig pic

Before I even read this I seriously thought you took a picture of your family looking into a mirror. Excellent work must have take a lot of time. Wish I was this committed to detailing my car but after an hr or so I just finish it off quick.

Seriously nice results

Have you considered using a larger diameter pad? I find on larger panels it cuts down on time..but it requires a bit more hand pressure..

Pics added.

Yolkster, thanks for the advice. A buddy of mine recommended 4.5" pads because he felt you can more accurately apply pressure, and they can get into tighter corners, so I bought those. I do have a larger diameter backing plate, but am guessing the smaller pads only cost me an extra 30 minutes or so.

The time involved wasn't really the polishing, it was the washing - clay bar - re-wash - polish - sealant, plus my inexperience with the process.

Cheers
