BMW's PDC vs Merc's

Hi,
This question for those who have front PDC (mostly in europe). When i go home, to Turkey for vacation I drive a clk convertible that has PDC both front and back. In bumper to bumper traffic, as soon as i start closing up to someone or cutting someone off to change lanes, the front pdc automatically turns on and starts indicating the distance between my car and others around me. Basically, upto ~10 mph, the front pdc is active. is that the case for the M3 as well? or whats the ase in 5 or 7 series with front pdc?
Thanks

hahaha, in fact, its a great car to drive in that traffic since with the PDC i can cut off anyone, close up in traffic on other cars as close as one inch and not let anyone cut me off.

I might sound like a jerk but in europe, thats the only way to drive in traffic

Kinda off topic, but one of these days I'll make a system where it will display the distance between me and the guy tailgating me in my rear window. It will have different colors and effects (flashing, shifting etc) for different ranges etc..

BMW's front PDC (on my X5) only turns on if you put it in reverse (where the front will stay on for a few minutes helpful when manuevering) or if you push the button on the dash. IMHO I like this implementation better as it is mostly off and comes on only when you need it.

IIRC you need to press a button to activate front PDC
