Jag f type 4 cylnder, what do you think?

I have only drove v6 last year. Anyone have thought?
All the reviews are talking pretty good about this car.
I am seriously considering this car for 3rd weekend car. Power is not necessarily important to me

2018 f type 4cyl vs 2014-2016 981 Cayman s
I am on the fence

I would pass...lovely exterior but part of the overall attraction is the epic sound of both the V6 and V8. Without it, I think this car loses a lot so I would move on. Good luck!!

TEST DRIVE THEM before you purchase, ESPECIALLY the 4 cylinder turbo engines!

you know, i'm sure these sports cars are "well made" with 4 cylinder, but so far what I've felt from actual driving these recent 4 cylinder cars are disappointment after disappointment.

I've never driven the 4 cylinder porsche or the jag, so this isn't a 100% direct response, but driven NEW bmw 330, x3, IS200/300, NX200t (bought one), and test drove a CR-V with the new 4 cylinder turbo just yesterday.

every 4 cylinder turbo cars (different from any cylinder NA, and def different from 6 cylinder turbos), feel so light at the foot (it's either go or stop), when you let off the gas while at speed, that release of air+power at the same time, the turbo lag until turbo spins, feels very unpleasant.

I've driven a 4 cylinder NA car (honda K24) for 7 yrs, and this new turbo, while on paper it may look very good, FEELS terrible.

My advice: take the test-drive on local & highway drive and make the decision!

i'd drive it and see if you'd be ok with it. regardless of if you care or not about it being a 4cyl, its still $60k for a car that doesn't do anything great. performance is mediocre, gas mileage is mediocre.

The depreciation is horrendous on these F Types. Was at CarMax today and saw two convertible 6 cylinders for about $45k with about 10k miles on them. Looking at Jag's website, that's a depreciation of nearly 40% within two years??

I think that they are gorgeous cars and they look to be a hoot, but why don't people want them?

I would go with a cayman over the jag. Unless the jag is a v8. Last 4 cylinder jag I drove was so miserably slow. Also had one of the most boring engines I've experienced.

the 4cyl in the Boxster/Cayman is fantastic so they DO exist, but the Jag definitely needs to be test driven before making that call

I would definitely go with the 981 - aside from warranty, the only department it doesn't win in is looks.
