goldRush Rally - 3 M3 Enthusiasts come together for the journey of a lifetime

A few months back I was tossing around the idea of selling my Corvette and picking up an M3. I went back and forth many times, but what pushed me over the edge was the community. Coming from the Vette world, I was used to forum members being much older and having very different priorities and outlooks on the scene. I signed up for M3Post to learn as much as I could about the M3 and what it had to offer.

I attended a few meets with a buddy of mine (and forum member akh23456) where I met more forum members. I knew this was for me and within weeks the Vette was sold and I was the proud owner of a 2011 M3 Coupe. Fast forward just a month into ownership and those original forum members I met have become great friends and we decided to put our passion for all things automotive together and look into doing one of those rally events.

Its funny that three people who were strangers just a few months ago are now friends and are ready to travel the country for a week together. We went back and forth trying to justify the cost and ultimately it came down to the fact that this will be an experience that we'll remember for a lifetime. Within a week of bringing up the idea we are now officially signed up for the 2012 goldRush Rally.

We will be documenting our entire experience here on the forum and on our FaceBook page, everything from our pre-rally prep, to the insane footage from the rally, to photos of the breathtaking views and cars along the way. Our goal is to make everyone feel like they are a part of the rally this year.

If you split the cost with a team of 2 or 3 in a car and only do a leg on 1 coast (we are only doing East) the cost is very manageable, especially for what you are getting.

Ooh good idea. I'd have to find the right person down to get random as hell for a week that I also trust to drive my car!
