That's exactly what I tell people when they look at the car and start bitching that it's too small and it's unsafe, I always respond: "Well it's safer than the motorcycle I ride on weekends". Most of the time it shuts them up while they think about the truth of the statement.

I saw some that had some cool customizations in Italy. One was jet black with custome wheels - beautiful. Unfortunately, the reviews of them in the US have been pretty horrible. The price is one issue and the gas mileage isn't remotely what you would expect it to be. The real problem, however, is a terrible, herky-jerky transmission. Mercedes apparently had good reason to be so reluctant about importing them.
