Price for M3 - below MSRP?
There haven been a lot of people talking about the price of the new M3; downpayments, MSRP, etc.
I was wondering if anybody has experience with pre-ordering a car, and what the chances are of getting it below MSRP? How close could you get to the Invoice Price, considering the Demand for brand new cars is extremely high? I am looking forward to comments, suggestions and sharing experiences, thx CSL-Fanatik |

If you're a repeat customer at some dealerships, I can imagine getting maybe $500 or $1000 off. However, right out of the gates it's highly unlikely you'll be able to negotiate a discount unless some unusual circumstances apply. ie. someone ordered an unusual color combo and then backed out. The thing is, if history repeats itself these cars will hold their value very well early on. -Adam |

I just left a well-known dealer here in northern California - couple of things worth noting:
1. They mentioned that BMW HQ is telling them not to expect M3 availability until 2008. Apprarently they want to milk 335Ci sales for a bit. 2. I am on some sort of list, but nothing official. They said they would take deposits once they have a better idea of the allocation of cars they will receive from Germany. Sounds a bit like BS, but the person seemed sincere. 3. At this point, the dealer was unwilling to commit to MSRP. Yes, I know, perhaps I should drop by another dealer. Planning on it. |

Dont expect the M3 to go below MSRP the first months it comes out.. I guess it goes for all new model cars. take a look now, Jan 07, all e92 335i arriving 'till April are all sold, if you want one its MSRP if yur lucky plus 8 wks to make and deliver

That depends on your Dealer and Managers...if it's a hot car (Which it is) and they know it will sell for all the money they won't give it to you for $500 over.
I work at a dealership but who knows my mangers might be crazy like that and dont give a crap about their employees and I will be the first to say they don't luckily we are part of a huge company (POWER) so I can hopefully go to a BMW dealership and have them do me this favor. Anybody else work at a dealership? |
