Movie of gas powered M3

I don`t hope this is a repost..!?
This Ac Schnitzer m3 set a record at the Nardo track. It has a gas powered version of the V10 engine from m5/m6. In this version it has 552 hp and reached 318,1 km/h!!!

A gas powered version... I wasn't aware BMW M made any other type. Unless your being vague and mean natural gas or Hydrogen gas which I doubt.

That car does nothing for me btw. I rarely am a fan of chrome.

It is powerered from a gas called LPG. It is not BMW who made it but AC Schnitzer who have modified the V10 we know from the m5 and m6 But I agree with you that it doesn`t look to good.

I've never heard of LPG. Do you have any info on it? And why ACS would spend so much money to convert an engine to run on another fuel source which would never be real-world feasible due to lack of availability?

In Italy it is a very common system. The other system is "gas methane". Both need a different tank fixed in the baggage area. With LPG you burn about 10%more to make the same distance you can make with a liter of fuel...but the LPG costs here about the half of a liter of unleaded fuel. You loose also about 10% or less of the nominal power.Methane gas is much less expencive, but also offers less performances.

IMO this thing is terrible and should be burned. most others agree. ACS has lost their touch.

So you burn more, get less. But the cost per unit is lower. For some reason I feel like this is also more anti-green than regular gasoline?

I think government subsidies drive all that madness. LPG is widely used for cooking in certain parts of the world, and sells at a discount if I am not mistaken...
