RIDE program encounter

So yesterday I had a close encounter of the pig kind.

Has anyone else been through a RIDE check? What are your thoughts about nosy cops who ask all sorts of questions beyond their authority and overstepping their boundaries?

I have been through many ride programs, not sure what your beef is since you dont really go into details as why you need to refer to cops as 'pigs'. Sounds childish.

I for one am happy that they run these programs and try to keep the drunk f*ck's off the road. But maybe I am jaded due to having a good friend killed by a drunk driver.

Not saying all cops are good, but i certainly appreciate them putting there lives on line and don't envy them having to deal the multitude of f*cktards they have to.

My only problem with the RIDE is that they seem to ignore drunk people on bicycles. I once had a clearly DUI cyclist rear-end my car within about 100 meters after the ride post - how ironic is that? Other than that, I have never thought that inconvenience exceeds the benefits, even when they manage to create a mini traffic jam.

Personally I have never had problem with RIDE. They are usually fairly courteous and they are just trying to keep drunk drivers off the road. No program is perfect but I think most of them do it right.

The only slightly off topic question I have ever gotten was an officer remarking about the two Recaro Baby seats in the back of my E46 M3 Cab.

I'm fine with RIDE other than the damn 10 mins of traffic jam it causes in most cases!
