Still hard for me to believe that's noticeable. Do you notice the difference with one piece of luggage in the back?

I just put on test pipes yesterday, and will have Benvo's stage II tune shortly. Should net me ~10% gain in power - I expect to notice that!

Personally I would have it painted body color if I did it. Raw CF is just another unpainted body panel as far as I'm concerned. I realize I'm in minority here.
My bad on thinking the coupe & sedan's roofs are the same dimensions--I read autobahn's post incorrectly...

I'd have no qualms at all to have it painted, either, but... Would the next owner feel the same way? (why'd you paint the CF roof?! lol)

Maybe clear-bra it to maintain the CF finish in the harsh FL sun.

I need to do a search on this to see if there's a thread on the conversion.

This is a great thread...

I already have TP's and stage 2 tune. The difference is noticeable with each and well worth it

Buy an E30 3 series, dump your e92s engine and transmission in it. That will be about 700-800 lbs weightloss.

I don't think you should get caught up on saving a little here and there...unless you're racing the car, you need to go big...like take out backseats, trunk liner, interior door trim, front dash trim, and HVAC.

Most people are not willing to do this as it compromises the DD aspects of the car. But since you asked about it, here is the list of weight savings area:

e92 is not easy to be "light" unless you want to strip everything and build a full track car. I have a e92 with 6mt with no nav and some weight reduction mods and rear seats removed, car weighs about 3450lbs with 3/4 tank of gas and no driver. My friend's e46 with similar mods, rear seats and stereo removed weighs only 3200lbs.

yeah, not easy...3450 with rear seats removed too! You can try going with trunk trim removal but there's only about 10 lbs total there...

It appears most the E92's added weight is around the way they've designed the additional airbags and other safety related structures on the frame for the E9X cars. Even the GTS is only about 100 lbs lighter than the standard E92 M3.

there's also minimum weights savings on suspension equipment as most of our suspension is M-specific, doesn't have an aftermarket alternative, and is already aluminum.

36lb is actually 1% of 3600lb so you may notice it.... 3.6lb is 0 1% and 0.36lb is 0 01% lol.

I doubt youd notice the later 2....
