Quietting down Akra Evo ...

Hey Guys,

I bought a used Akra Evo (full system) from a forum member here. While the sound is perfect at most RPMs. The Akra has a deep growl during idle (~800rpm). It also has a resonance at 1-1,200rpm. Parking underground is literally scary. The echo is insane. Has anyone tried adding additional resonators to quiet the Akra down a bit? Looking at the system, the very front section of the Akra might fit two resonators.

Any advice is appreciated.

Akra Evo is the mellowest full exhaust you will get used to it. I have a full catless setup w/o resonators and that sets off car alarms in underground structures so you should be okay

Put the stock X-pipe back in, it's not a huge difference, but there is a difference.

I find the Akra to be really tame. Nothing you can do except remove the x pipe as aus said. I think you'll get used to it, though.

dont fawk up a beautiful exhaust. its a Titanium exhaust. i have not seen an individual resonator that is made out of TI unless its complete with an exhaust directly from an aftermarket manufarture like AKRA.

my advise is to sell your xpipe. no other exhaust will be tame as the AKRA... in parking garages anyways....

I set off a car alarm with just a slip on. That being said, I love the sound but cannot live with the drone so had to put it up for sale.

I love the deep bass sound in underground garages! While I'm in my 40's...I guess it brings out my inner teen-ager as I find myself trying to set off alarms

It doesn't get much quieter than the Akra so you may need to consider going back to the stock exhaust if you need something quieter.

1 alarm and counting. Do Porsches keep the alarm in memory? My parking neighbours might have o be notified of my false alarms so they don't freak out every morning

Keep the Akra Evo as is. IMO it is one of the best sounding, best looking, lightest and quietest aftermarket exhaust out there. I love mine!

+1 this is one of the biggest reason I went with the EVO as well. for me its the best all around exhaust out there so far. I heard the new ESS exhaust though the other day and it could be a contender very soon

Drone?
I have heard superflym3's akra from 1200 to 3000 rpm range and there is no drone. Only sound you hear is the deep exhaust note and the low frequency rattle.
I became very drone sensitive after hfc xpipe with a magnaflow exhaust. It was hard to think at times. I reverted back to stock exhaust for my hearing sake
