What Air Intake is currently the best on the market for the 2011 M3?

I searched everywhere but I cant find a thread about which air intake is currently the best on the market for the 2011 M3's? (as of June this year)

Thanks.

Most say stock is the best. Some say it's better with a efficiently designed chargepipe and stock airbox. Others say that's not worth the money. Your best bet is just getting an air filter and calling it a day, really. I got Gruppe M intake plus Dinan Chargepipe, and while I did see some improvements, it probably didn't justify the cost. I'm sticking with N/A and I'm not stroking my motor though, so I'm happy with it.

Wait, I mean, I don't have a Gruppe M intake or a Dinan Chargepipe. My signature says so.

That's crazy man...Is it true the Gruppes are like 3 grand ? Im ok with staying with my stock air box but im not gonna lie, i wouldn't mind have that baritone sound coming from my engine bay, even if im only looking at a 6hp gain.

BMC drop in filter (for some tone) + scoops (RPI or AFE)
Power gain not tangible though

I think that aFe makes one of the best intake systems out there.

^See? Like I said, all the answers are either stock, or stock with filter, or stock with elbow.

I'd personally go for the aFe chargepipe if I wanted to do chargepipe on a budget. I think it comes with a filter. Otherwise, stick with just the BMC filter, I had that before and I was happy with it. It'll change noise as well.

I believe 2.7k for Gruppe M, 1k for Dinan Chargepipe. I got both used though.

Definitely stock. Plus your warranty would remain intact for sure. Don't understand why people have to d*ck with their cars just by default. Just looking at the intake design makes it obvious it doesn't get much better than that.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND...

way less than the real one... but looks just like it....
$1k i believe

BUT TO THE OP.....
afe with filter will be the best cheapest way modding intake. but if you want bling bling on your engine bay.... get GRUPPE M or style..

heres what i have.

I too would like to know more info about E92 M3 intake possibilities. Since I live in Denver which is a mile high, the M3s out here are in desperate need for more air. I want something that is going to have a nice sound and help air flow.

What do you guys think of the technocraft system?

stick with stock box and perhaps an aftermarket filter...

use the money you'd spend on an intake system for some other performance mods...

BTW: not sure if anyone read that eurotuner mag regarding the afe intake on their m3 build....but if you haven't, you should before purchasing an afe intake set up...

I really like the MAcht Shnell filter I got from EAS. simple install and noticeable throttle response.

Eurotrip, what part exactly did you buy. The $99 filter, a stage 2 kit, etc?

Based on fitment I would recommend the Dinan intake. Fits just like an OEM part.

I'm running the Macht Schnell stage 1 (filter and scoops). Easy to install (MS provides great videos). Filter is high quality. Stack it up against the OEM and you will see the difference.

I think it is about $160 at EAS.

Unless you are looking for cosmetic changes the cost/benefit does not justify spending any more money.

M3 GTS & M3 CRT have the best intake.
