What should a good tint job cost?
Like an idiot, I paid $500 for the tint job on my current 535i from last June. It was convenient and I had never had tint on any of my previous so what the hell did I know...
This past weekend, my buddy in Charlotte, NC has his new JB M3 done for 185 with Madico Tint..... What should or shouldnt I be tinting with and what is a good price for an M3 sedan? |

It depends on the film. This weekend I dropped $500 to have my car tinted with Huper Optik at Song's Tint Masters. They did a good job. It's better to pay more for a good job then have some dude hack up your car for cheap. The starting price at Song's depending on the film was $120 for 5 windows on to $500 for Huper Optik.
I can't tell you how important it is to choose a reputable place. These guys can tear up your leather, cut your rubber molding, burn things with the heatgun, and just mess your car up. Many people recommend Song's so I went there and I am satisfied. With the Huper Optik film, there are bubbles that started forming today but they will go away as the film dries in 2 weeks. |

I speak to a BMW sales associate that mentioned they have a in-house guy that will tint for $299 through the dealership. Seemed like I decent price, but I didn't ask what grade of tint they used.

I paid $250 for the tint on my Z. It looked alright until it was scratched from someone trying to break into it.

They use Formula 1 film, which comes with a lifetime warranty. I paid $289 for their top non-ceramic film on my E90 in Nov. They'll definitely be doing the tint on my M3 when it gets here. Last edited by Bama M3; 04-17-2008 at 06:52 AM.. |

Can someone please explain the pros/cons of ceramic/non-ceramic and what's the big deal about huber optik? My M3 should be arriving in about 2 weeks and I'm researching tint right now. What is the best and why? Thanks!
