Hood without the "bulge"?

Hi,
Does anyone know if you order a hood (anywhere) without the bulge/powerdome, fitting on the M3?
I know it's not fake, making space for the engine, but maybe some tuner has come up with something.
Many Thanks

question... will any aftermarket hoods such as vorsteiner fit our cars? Or will the v35 hood fit on an e90 m3?

if you don't have the bulge, how will the engine fit?

I have looked many times at my car's engine bay, and the black seems to stick out to the point it would not fit under a conventional hood.

i am surprised we are 4 posts in, and nobody has said "then buy a 335!" perhaps we are getting more mature. Good luck in your search, but I doubt demand for what you want will be high

That's actually the first response that came to mind.

The bulge is a must!! It is made that way to fit the large intake plenum. So, you could try and build yourself a smaller intake plenum, an expensive alternative that would restrain airflow to the 8 throttle bodies your engine possess. Don´t think I have to spell the result of that! Or, you could just buy a 335 and forget about the M3. lol!

This is tantamount to saying why don´t you remove that bulge from your pants and turn you into a ?????

The M3 is a beefy male car, so of course it has to have a bulge!

I don't know the point, either. I do know there must be some clearance, because I accidentally eft a screwdriver on top of the intake and it closed without contact.

Obviously, the powerdome is a matter of taste. Some like it, I don't.
I'm basically looking for a sportscar/daily use combination of a car so I can take it to a track on occasion (nürburg ring in germany).
Don't like 911, no practical value (limited boot ******* & rear engine concept is flawed although refined. I'm 6'8'', don't fit into baby aston or cayman. Lots of GT cars out there, but there're not really sport cars (no differential, too much body roll etc). The M3 would be a fit, if I could detune the aggressiveness, don't like.
Anyway that's the background, thx for your comments.

Fair enough, but again, power dome is there to allow enough space for the intake, not so much a matter of taste.

The bulge is needed to fit the engine.

Oh yeh and there is the small matter of a pair (one is cosmetic I know) intake vents in the bonnet, they (it) are a necessity.

You also need to remember about heat dissipation. If the hood is too close to the engine, it can cause potential problems to paint and/or the engine and its parts.
