Life expectancy of OEM pads


38,000 miles
2008 e92 m3.

My pads are starting to squeal alittle here and there not sure how long these pads last thinking about upgrading to stop tech pads here soon? How long did yours last ? I don't DD mine I don't track it ether let me know what you guys think.!

Impossible to predict, really. It comes down to how you drive. Some people will get lots of mileage because they don't brake a lot (highway miles) but some will blow through them quickly (lots of stop and go). Guarantee you this thread will be full of useless mileage info that will not help you because everyone's driving style & habits are different.

It's pretty easy to take off a wheel and measure the pad thickness. The car also has sensors that tell you when the pads need replacing. Squealing doesn't mean you need replacing yet -- the car has noisy pads from the factory since it's a performance car.

When my Oem pads are used,i thought maybe i will give the ///M Performance pads a try ?
What do you think of those....any expierence ? Someone....?

They just don't sound right it's very loud and obnoxious my tech said that the pads are still in good shape and I have 1 more season left but the squealing is unbearable

Very few people have used those. I don't think you can even get them in the US. They're really expensive...not worth it in my opinion since there are tons of aftermarket choices.

I've replaced my rear pads (and put a ton of grease to help with noise) and they still squeal haha. My fronts need to be replaced though.

They are re-branded Pagid RS Yellows. Textar owns Pagid. A few of us are/have ran these in the past on the track. If you are just DD them, its a waste. Squel a lot and dust a lot. Otherwise great solution for track/street duty. I run those or PF08s on street/track from March to Nov when track season dies here.

I just changed my pads at around 38k miles because I was tired of the horrible dust from the OEM pads. The pads looked like they had 30-40% life left on them though....i think i could have easily gone another 10k miles on them.

I also measured the rotors and those were just slightly above min thickness which is lame. I'm use to getting at least 70-80k miles out of a set of rotors.
