I think the exhaust sounds great and is unique in its own just the same as some of the cars mentioned above. As far as build quality goes I am by no means a welder or anything of the sort but last time I checked the exhaust is under the car, they don't claim to be competing for a Ridler award or anything, and not a single soul has said anything but praise for the sound and the looks the tips have when standing behind the car. My buddy has a superleggera and he thought the tips looked purposeful and "race like" like his.
Speaking of the Dyno manipulations I'll be honest I didn't read the link you posted (busy at the moment lol) but if it's speaking of back in the day I know Gintani used to have a gentlemen tune for them that was not of the best character from what I've heard (Jeremy from OE tuning I believe) and they have since parted ways and Alex is doing all of the computer stuff now.
Youre pickup is the best!

Dont mind evensteven - he called me an internet tough guy for trolling on purpose and then just perusing through these last few threads while on the shitter , i come to find out all he does is lay down the law with his opinions.

Hahaha, thanks man! Still haven't found an adapter to get my pickups rims on my Beemer

Yeah I pretty much have to agree that this evensteven dude is probably just a troll. The guy literally just created an account this month and is here bashing. Probably another vendor with a fake account.

Such a shame this crap goes on. I've met a few of the vendors off here now at one time or another and all have been super chill. Just sucks you get some guys who think they are the end all be all

what kind of experience do you have with both these kits?
Sorry i missed this post. I have zero with the Gintani kit, and little with the VF kit. I have installed several ESS kits and Active kits among others of the years, on multiple platforms. After seeing these kits in person I would not recommend them to anyone I know, even if I disliked them. I was on a trip with a VF650 and a group of other cars over the summer, and the owner wanted to take the kit off of his car because the performance wasn't there and the car wasn't running right. Granted this was apparently an early/beta kit.
Sorry for the derailing of the thread. Although other members are apparently doing the same thing.

Sound is subjective but I must say that a full Gintani M3 catless with the S/C sounds downright fuc*king nasty! It just takes the S65 to a whole new level. I remember hearing Josh's car blow off at the track and I pissed myself. Good stuff.

I had the Gintani sport also. The construction and fitment were fine. As you said, sound is subjective, but they were both (I had the hybrid also) were awful. Very boomy and bassy down low while cruising and quiet up top. Totally the opposite of what you want in an exhaust. I took both of them off after only a few days.

That last one is particularly fun after page 2 or so.

they're not even made at Gintani, so to comment on the construction shows you have no clue what you're talking about

I'm making a comment on the quality of the product, so who they had make it is irrelevant. If anything, knowing it's not done in-house makes it worse.

Thanks for the kind words adam

This was running the full gintani system:
Stg 3 with BOV - Full Gintani System

Stg 3 with Bov - Gintani/Akra Mix

My new m3 has a Stg 2 with no bov, running the stock exhaust w a gintani x pipe.. I have a video on the track doing a fly by.. but it's not even worth posting after listening to those.

Hope to see u at the track!

Josh

^ Definitely one of the sickest sounding M3 videos. Gintani race makes the best sound IMHO, but it drones badly.

Aside from this turbo kit we've heard much of nothing about, how do I get information on Gintani's supercharger kits? The site isn't working and I'm trying to make a purchase decision between S/C kits.

Thanks

Just an advice, don't botter searching, just buy a used VT2-625 that's for sale for almost 1/2 price on this forum, it's the most renowned kit and you'll be able to sell it the same price you bought it for when you're finish with it!! More people are running this kit then any other and you wont find a bad review about it!

Did you read my full post? Quiet up top. Loud down low. Makes it hard to drive unnoticed through a parking lot. Gave me a headache listening to the booming.

Yeah I did, quiet up top? First I've heard anyone say this. I have Vette buddies who run long tubes, no cats that say my car is loud as hell and screams up top. But again, sound is all subjective. Just your the first I've ever heard with that quiet perspective (no matter what rpm) regarding the Gintani
