Should I wait or not?
Ok guys, here's my situation. In Afghanistan for 15 month tour. 12 months into my tour, the end of February '09, I will be going on R&R (vacation and sister's wedding) for 18 days. After the 18 days I will return to afghanistan to finish up the 15 month tour(about 3.5 months). When I go home for the 18 days I will have to rent a car if I don't pick up my M3. If I do pick up my M3 I will have to put it in storage while I finish my tour in afghanistan. I will for sure get past the break-in and have the service before it's stored if i do pick the car up. The $$ is not an issue I just hate the idea of renting a car when I could have MY car! Plus after 12 months in the stone age (afghanistan) I would love to have the ultimate driving machine if only for a short period of time on R&R,make my vacation that much better. On the other hand I don't know if there would be any downfalls I don't know about from putting my car in a garage and not driving it for 3 months.
Should I.... A. Order my M3 for pick up at the beginning of my R&R or 2. Order my M3 for pick up when I return to the the states at the end of the tour.

15 months, wow. I bought mine as a present after only a 4.5 month deployment.
IMHO, I would wait till I finished my deployment. That way you have something else to look forward too, besides family and being home. I feel like if I got it during R & R, it'd be alot harder to leave to go back to Afghanistan.
