An Expensive Snow job!

Dulles Airport Hanger collapse due to heavy snow this past weekend.

This picture says it all. Two Global Expresses and a G-550 on their tails. The Global in the foreground is also apparently severely damaged. That is $200m+ of hardware, not including the hangar. Thinking about a mobile asset relocation plan prior to heavy weather? There is 30"+ on the ground now and 10-20" more forecast by Wednesday!

It looks like the engineering company and steel provider better be calling their insurance providers. That is a pretty new facility and I suspect the commercial construction building code for snow loads are designed for 30" of wet stuff, even in Virginia .

The americans are already blaming Airbus for the fact that the aircrafts could not sustain the weight of an snowed in hangar roof on them.

Yes, but it's still Airbus' fault

By the way, Bombardier is based in Saint-Laurent not Dorval.
