Bamboo Beige Owners - How close to sample color?

Hi all,

So I've begun the ordering process at my dealership. And after viewing millions of pictures of the different interiors, I thought bamboo beige might be my first choice.

However, at the dealership, the sample seemed darker to me than in the picture below.

Eclipsis' beautiful Monte Carlo M3:

Is this pic accurate? My CA said the samples were accurate, but the sample seemed darker to me.

Thanks all!

That's a really nice color combo; Monte Carlo with Bamboo. Wish I'd done that.

And yes. The Bamboo color in the photo is accurate. I've had two Bamboo e90s and it is light like that. I'd prefer darker.

That's pretty accurate. The best description I've heard is "peanut butter". Someone on this forum described the color that way years ago and I still haven't heard a better characterization.

After 3 1/2 years, I still love the color in my Interlagos E90.

That is accurate, nice color just be a bit careful with belts and your jeans. Keep the seats cleaned and conditioned with each wash and you should have no worries

I have SG and bamboo beige. I find it very difficult to photograph the interior as the leather is over exposed due to the dark interior colour. I think that what you see in your photo is just a little bit light. I took a photo that is a little blurry but I froze the exposure settings at a close distance in order to get the colour of the leather correct then backed off to take the photo. It's not quite focused right but is a better representation of the colour.

Here is another shot for you where you can see the color in sunlight and shadow at the same time.

I love it but I can also tell you that it is more maintenance than black if you want to keep it looking good.

I have LeMans Blue on bamboo interior. The original photo color looks a bit light to me. Goldminer's looks the most accurate. However, beware that color reproduction on computer monitors is highly variable. The color I see on my monitor may not be the color you see on your monitor. If possible, I would strongly suggest you see it in person.

Yes I was worried about maintenance as well. That's why I did not go for extended leather. I didn't want it on the sides of the transmission tunnel where it might get scuffed.

I have Bamboo on JB and I don't think this is very accurate at all. Yours looks more "flesh tone" than Bamboo to me

I love the color. I went to great lengths to photograph it maintaining accurate color. Even so, the top photo is a bit light. Bottom is very close. Also, as was previously stated, everyone's monitor is calibrated differently.

Thank-you for your responses, especially those who tried to capture the real color and posted up their pictures for me.

There are not a whole lot of M3s here, and bamboo is rarer color. So even if I extend my search radius somewhat, it's still very difficult for me to see a real life example of bamboo.

I have thought about going with black (just to be "safe"), but I think I'd regret it if I did end up seeing bamboo and liking it better. I am used to light interiors, and I maintain my cars very well, so they hold up well for a long time.

Thanks for your help guys,
Julie

I just looked at my post on my laptop screen instead of my flat screen monitor and the two look different. I guess this is a bit of an issue.

If it helps, I found the leather swatch at the dealer (BMW Toronto) to be very accurate. I took it out of the book and walked over to an SG 335 and laid it on the car. This gave me a pretty good idea of what it looked like.

I see you are in Ontario. If you are near Toronto maybe you'd like a look at mine on some weekend.

Goldminer, thanks for the offer! I actually live outside the GTA, but not too far from it. I am going into the GTA today so I will try BMW Toronto first.

Again, color reproduction on computer displays is highly variable. The sample at the dealership or seeing the color in person is the most accurate way to see the color.
