OEM M Wheels 260M vs 219M
Anybody know the difference between these wheels?
From pictures they look identical ? Maybe the 260's aren't hypersilver but I really can't tell the difference. The dimensions, offset and sizes are identical.

I never understood why they decided to make two different styles. Seems like it would be more cost effective to just to one style 18 and one style 19... hmm?

I believe I read that one accommodates TPMS while the Euro version doesn't (since they do not use the same sensors on the rim) and thus has a slightly different barrel. I searched but didn't find a reference to it so somebody else chime in if this is wrong.

The 260 and 219 rims have slightly different spokes - the 219 spokes are flattened on the outer face of the rim. The 260's appear to be more rounded or angled at the face. There are pictures of both in the pictures section. |

No way, I like the US ones way better..We do not have TPMS here in Canada but still got the US wheels thank goodness. The spokes have more shape on the US ones...they go fat to skinny. Also, because they curve in right away, rather then going streight and curving close to the hub, they look so much more concave from the side angle. Most of the replicas out there are the Euro version.

I hate the 18s. PERIOD. Euro or North American.

Wow, great replies. I honestly couldn't tell the difference and am looking for an 18 rim for winter set up so not too concerned about the minor difference in looks.
For whatever reason the I've been able to find new oem 260's for about $90 cheaper a wheel. Since I've already demonstrated my ability to curb a wheel I figured I'd go with the cheaper ones. Thanks for the replies

Euro cars (or at least UK cars) have a puncture prediction system based on wheel speed data from the ABS sensors...when a tyre loses a couple of psi it travels slightly faster, the speed difference is noted and the warning system lights up on the dash. It seems to work very well as its very sensitive.

Yes, Canadian cars use that system too (no TPMS). But we have the US 18" wheel, not the Euro 18" wheel.

Found the reference to the info about the differences between the styles (in a thread about AP Racing brakes and clearance for 18s). Not an official source but makes sense. FWIW:
