OP, props for posting the thread positively. I appreciate you removing the photo though and your original post and message still stand. Shit can happen at the track when you do nothing wrong and it is a good idea to get insurance.

Because the fact is...DCT > 6MT. Nothing to talk about.

Because you have SMG and can't play in that discussion.

Um yeah. That's the point. All you clowns are getting upset over a RANDOM picture of a car on the internet.

Again, eveyone poked fun at the guy's video of him running straight off course into the wall, but no one said anything there about posting that vid on the internet. But now everyone claims their a saint. Whether you agree with me or not, there's a double standard here you need to recognize. Again who cares? A random pic on the internet of an m3 on fire.

Most of us here know what the word "random" means. That photo isn't "random". Not in any way, shape or form.

It is a specific E93 M3 at a Tarheel BMWCCA event at VIR on a specific date, of a specific color, with a unique color stripe on the hood, with a unique Euro front plate with an identifiable run group letter/number in the rear window.

The damage is unusual - including the melted hole in the hood.

Trying to pass this off as simply a "random" pic of any car on the Internet is silly. It isn't random at all - and everyone knows it.

OP: You did the right think pulling the photo. Good on you for showing discretion and consideration for others who track with you.

I will admit...I do wish my E90 was a 6MT at times. But that doesn't happen very often.

DCT
6MT > DCT IMO. Much more engaging and makes the car more enjoyable to drive, DCT is boring. Unless of course you're the drag racing type, which you don't appear to be

Honestly, I don't think one is "better". DCT is a different experience. I don't think it's a mindless as most think. Especially since it's so much easier to be in the wrong gear also.

The most exciting part is up shifting into 4th gear. The car just explodes into a fury of acceleration. The 6mt lacks that kind of feel.

I also like downshifting my 6mt from 4th to 2nd...that's just do fun!

Oh...posting pics of crashed cars? That's bad...mmmkay?
