I have a problem and i need advice

Hello everyone,

Today i took my 2009 e92 M3 to the dyno to see what numbers it would put down, but i was extremely shocked how it under performed ! it made only 348whp !

Preformance mods: BPM stage 2 tune
IPE F1 exhaust system
Macht schnell stage 2 intake
Rd lowering springs

To be honest i was expecting something was wrong , my macht schnell stage 2 intake is kind of not fitted right it keeps on coming a bit off every time i floor it, its like there is an error from the factory, i bought it from EAS however my friend got his macht schnell stage 2 intake from IND and installed it at the same garage but his fitment is 100%. I am not saying this could be the main problem i am just saying it might of helped loose a few horses , i was expecting to make about 380WHP. If anyone can guide me to where the problem might be i would really appreciate it.
Thank you

Make sure the little rubber spacer under the intake is on the center hole of the frame rail.

Also check your oxygen sensors as it shouldn't be leaning out on top, it should be going richer. Perhaps the dyno afr meter is incorrect or the sensor pushed out.

ill try fixing the intake issue, probably will contact eas , Yes i realized it going too lean and i was wondering if this has to do with the tune or a fuel pump issue but if it is the Oxygen sensor then how should i fix it? Maybe Mike Benvo can help

Where was the O2 sensor mounted? In the tailpipe? Do you have cats still?

Your power curve shows that power is trailing off early. If you had a torque graph you could see it pretty easily. Around 100mph your power begins falling off.

A dyno is just a tool, always base line at a good shop that keeps dyno in good condition.

Temperature, humidity, how u have been driving lately are just some of the variables. Just make sure everything is good

spark plugs
Coils
O2 sensors
Fix that intake leak

Drive it hard!

hey guys I have recently plugged my m3 to the diagnosis machine honestly don't know whats it called and this is the msgs that I got ,272c oxygen sensor output stage diagnosis heater after cat blank 1,and ,272d oxygen sensor output stage diagnosis heater after cat blank 2.
Do think this is what's causing my AFR to be really lean or that's not the issue ?

Can anyone show me how good AFR graph looks like?

Those are emissions codes I think. Won't affect how your car runs. Honestly though, they shouldn't be popping up once you get a tune I would think.

How were you reading AFR? Were you using the factory O2 readings or using an O2 sensor mounted in the tailpipe. If mounted in the tailpipe, do you have cats?

The lean run is pto baby causing ignition timing retard and lost power. Second your not far off. 340 to 380 is norm even for tuned cars. New plugs, o2 sensors and coils if you have more than 50k miles may help.

Tune won't eliminate those emission codes from an obd2 reader. It suppresses the CEL from apperi g with a tune though.

Some folks in past ipe full valves exhaust loses power too

yes i think he was using a o2 sensor mounted in the tailpipe, and no i dont i am catless and do you have a graph that shows the AFR of your car? because i want to see what a good a AFR looks like.
