We have seen some low quality versions of this in the UK and also some very cheap X pipes from the far east which do not seal correctly leading to lambda codes being thrown and in some cases where the seal is very poor, misfire codes.

Does anyone have experience hearing a test-pipe car vs a aftermraket x-pipe/HFC car?

Can't compare a fully catless xpipe because the test pipes keep hte secondary cats so the comparo would be between a x-pipe with HFC vs a test pipe car?

I assume that we will throw a code with test pipes, is a tune required or recommended? Or do we just continue to drive with the light on?

+1. The code does not hinder performance, just annoying.

I've got Turners and love em', but if you're local to EAS +1 to the above. Get a tune you'll see an even larger gain.

Any concerns about MS quality? I recall a thread on here a while back about their intakes melting.

Turner products certainly can't be criticized for being poor quality...

For $95, you can buy a Burger Downpipe Fix to prevent a CEL from eliminating cats.

never had a problem with MS products on my E92 or on our IB E92 before it went with FI, and never had any negative feedback from customers we've set up with the intakes and test pipes either =)
