Insurance Questions on New E92

Hi Everyone,

My dealer just informed me that my car got here. He also mentioned that insurance is no problem and he will take care of that.

1. Is this a good idea or should I shop around for my own insurance before picking up the car?
2. What is the approx. cost of 6-month insurance on this car assuming standard comprehensive, collision and vandalism?
3. Who is the best insurance provider on this car?

The car is a 2013 Melbourne Red E92 ZCP. I put down 50% and Penfed approved the rest at 1.49%.

Thanks!

If you qualify (military, you or direct family member), then call USAA. Outstanding service and very competitive rates.

I work in the ins. business and think your questions are a little ridiculous for an adult buying a 70k car; but yes def shop around for your own insurance; Don't you have ins. now?? Best provider is subjective, but Chubb is prob the best carrier; approx. cost varies based on soooooooooo many variables/

Do your homework yourself rather than ask on an internet forum

Thanks for the info. As for the question of "do I have insurance now" - the answer is yes! I pay $230 for 6 months for a grand total of $460 per annum on my 1997 Honda Accord! So, I don't have much of an understanding about the going prices for insurance and the service levels (I have never interacted with my insurance provider, never called them up.)

When a dealer says he'll take care of the insurance, I believe he/she is thinking that you already have an insurance policy and they are just going to call on your behalf to add the car to your policy. Definetly shop around and don't just do the online quote. After the quote, call in and ask if they have anymore discounts they qualify for.

read what others on here have said about USAA claims service. I was fed up with their banking services and some recent changes in their offerings so I moved completely away from USAA. used to be good, now, not so much
