SMG downshift how aggressive?
Recently spent some time with a few M3s, didn't really experience the E46 as much as the E92
The E92 DCT rev matched downshifts were amazing coming up to the lights or pretty much just in general mind you the exhaust was aftermarket Now I am curious to know how the E46 SMG stands up to the DCT downshifts? I understand they are completely different but is it as aggressive? I also understand you must be on the throttle or even blip the throttle yourself with the SMG? If anyone has anything I could read up on, or perhaps if I could find the car manual? Thanks everyone. |

During braking, some what aggressive braking, you can downshift without blipping the throttle. Very convenient on the track.
If y You're downshifting, or rather rev matching, at slower speeds with SMG you should blip the throttle just like in a MT. Higher the rpm/harder you drive the more the smg will do the work for you. |

I have never driven a DCT, but do own an SMG M3. Yes, I do blip the throttle on every down shift. I love my SMG, and i definitely want to drive a DCT. you should drive one, its much better than just reading about it.
