Alternative for oem rear and side window sunshades?

I made the mistake of ordering my e90 sedan without the sunshade option for the rear and side windows.

Is there any alternative that I can buy and stick on the side and rear windows?

I have a 4 month old and I haven't used the M3 at all with my son and I want to start but I don't want the sun to hit him.

Does anyone have any feedback of these?

Solution = window tint.

For some odd reason I like how the M3 sedan looks untinted. All my previous vehicles I got them tinted so maybe its temporary look that I like now.

I'll check and see how much the bmw rear sunshades are vs tinting.

Might be cheaper to tint.

looks like only this will fit the E90 M3.
http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...&ProductId=895

clean fit, but if you don't mind manually setting it up everytime, they're not the "curtain style" are they? You need to do the suction cups...

I know hindsight is 20-20, but I didn't think I would need shades either, but I have them on my E90 and are quite useful, especially the motorized rear shades. OEM also allows side windows to open with the shades up.

I got really light tint (70%) that looks makes it look like the car isn't tinted. 50% heat reduction to boot. I topped it off with 90% on the front windshield.

I think the rear window shade isn't a difficult or expensive retrofit. I've seen directions floating around somewhere printed from BMW. You could get the dealer to install those for you.

Don't know about the sides though.

I ended up tinting it for my 6 mo old. Looks and works great! Makes a huge difference on the eyes and the heat.

And I think you can get tints that aren't very dark but reduce UV rays and will protect you little guy.

Yes, I'm not sure why the though. I certainly could have gone darker if I wanted but that was not my intention.

I just had the whole car (incl windshield) tinted in "Air Blue" from Llumar. Its a clear tint with a very light hue of blue. Supposedly it has better heat reduction than the dark tint.

Best part, looks like no tint; but its expensive.

I've had those OEM mesh sun visors for the side rear windows on my X3 and was very satisfied with them. Takes all of 10sec per side to put on or remove, are very effective, and unlike tint, they work with the windows down too.

Didn't feel the need to get them for the E90, but I would not hesitate to buy them if I did.

What's your thought on the air blue? I was thinking if getting my front windshield done with it. Have you noticed a difference?

Well, at first, the guy ran out so he did everything but the windshield; I could tell a difference but I was kind of disappointed. It was like that for about a week before I got the front windshield done; when finally completed, the difference was def very noticable.

Its pricey, but I love the look on the M3 with no tint. Very worth it IMO.

If the rest of your car is done in dark tint, I would say go for it. You absolutely CANNOT tell there is any film on there.

I have the rear power shade, but with coupe, the smaller rear windows the only option is the manual shades. I didn't want to tint, because I couldn't find a tint place that I trusted in my area. That is besides the point here though.

I got the BMW shades for the coupe rear windows. I love them. I really never remove them, they definitely cut down the light, without being super dark. I am happy with them. I also only ever powered down the power rear shade to show ppl it. Otherwise, I drive with it up all the time. Cuts down light in the day, and cuts down annoying headlights, especially redneck trucks with aftermarket headlights that aren't even installed and aligned evenly.

If I was able to get great tint and ensure an awesome job, I'd pay $500+ for a flawless tint, but everyone with tint I saw on local BMW drives, none were really perfect.

Could you post a link to the rear sunshades for the coupe? TIA.
