Moonroof here too. Would not pay this much for a car without.

oh yeah.. moonroof on my E90M as well.
This isn't a sports car. It's the ultimate compromise.
If you wanted a lightweight shoulda gotten a pcar instead.
And if you're really worried about the weight, I'm sure one of the aftermarket companies has the CF roof with a moonroof cutout.
Tha should weigh less than a steel roof with no moonroof.

Also if it's raining you can pop it up and water won't get in and still get fresh air.
BMW's in general do not accomodate drivers with longer torsos well, especially with the advent of moonroof instead of the sunroof of the old days, this has been true since even before E30.

Simply saying that you are 6'1" and have plenty of headroom really doesn't tell us anything. If say, you have 34" inseam and sit back instead of up as your driving position, sure, you might have enough headroom.

I do not have one on my E90 no need for it. If I want some sun I go to the beach.

All these being said-from a performance/track perspective-Sunroof Delete is a big plus. I plan on dropping the car on some KW3's and tracking the car at least twice a year. Did I mention I also got Fox Red Manual Seats?

I ordered my E90 without it. My first encounter with a sunroof was in an Audi I owned (bought used). I thought it would be so exciting but it really wasn't. It was nice but nothing I'd go brag to my friends about. Then I started riding motorcycles... The openness you get doing that is far beyond what a sunroof can provide.

So when I ordered my car I left it off. A few less things to have to worry about failing down the road (weak reason I know). It's definitely a personal decision though. Some people use facts as a pro/con for it, some use emotion, and some use a mix of the two!

My E90 came with it, since I got it pre-owned. When I was building M3's online I NEVER selected it as an option..

However I am extremely happy with it! Definitely lets the air circulate a lot better, and if I have to drive my car right after it's washed I just open the sunroof and don't have to worry about the windows!

My 2008 had a moonroof and so does my 2011 (en route)... its standard in Canada mind you. Either way I would order it if it was a standalone option, I use it pretty much every day from April/May until October or so.

not against the argument that the M3 is not a sportscar thus get a sunroof but the CF argument is dumb. Majority of the weight gain is from moonroof, going for steel non-mooroof to CF is not much of a savings. Too lazy to look it the exact numbers.

I figure it's good to have on some temperate days when its not too hot or not too cold.
i have the moon roof and i like the ability on nice days to open all windows and moon roof . i normally keep it tilted open. i like that look!
i would get again

I have an E90, am 5'11 and have headroom issues with the moonroof and my helmet on. Love the moonroof (wife loves it more) but the headroom and weight savings (probably over 40lbs) from the top of the car can't be ignored if serious about tracking. Other than that would leave well enough alone, once again, personal preference rules the day

Got one. Love it. As someone else stated, if I were all that concerned about 40 lbs. up top I'd lose a few myself and get a Cayman S.

The concern is with the weight in the center and up top with a moon roof.

My reason for not getting it is that its a heavy car to begin with so lets start deleting items that only add to the weight gain. Added to this is the fact that I barely ever use the sunroof on my current car..

All in all its one less thing to worry about after the warranty is out (leaky roofs, defective motors etc)

Cayman S is a good car but I needed a practical sports car. To each his own
