M6 is a POS I race them through Old Topanga. It's a joke. But your Porsche couldn't hold a candle to the epitome of the 3er either, the M3.

Man P prices are insane, I'm so happy I could get my dream car, and the options I wanted, could've added a few more, but I won't spend that much, so many options, wow, stiches, leather, man, so much
I have owned many bmws over the years. 4 of them m3's. 1 e36 1 e46 and 2 e92's. Growing up I was always fond of these cars and always felt that bmw cars in general felt better than anything else. Quite honestly, I never imagined owning anything else. I was never really a fan of Porsche, never liked the styling and the sound of the flat six was a big turn off for me. There were several factors that ultimately led me to buy a Porsche 911. The biggest reason was its relative light weight, small dimensions and sporty character. I absolutely can not stand driving a big heavy car everyday and the more I drove the latest generation m3, the more I realized how much of a pig it's turned into since the e36 days. Don't get me wrong, I still love my fat m3 but I missed having a light sporty car like my old e36. There's just Something about my 997 that sort of makes me feel like I'm driving my old beloved e36 and I don't get this feeling in the new 991. It's a terrific machine, sounds amazing and with pse sounds better than my e92 with m performance exhaust but I'm not willing to shell out close to 120k car I'm not absolutely in love with.

Ps. I hate the cheap material they use in the dash and doors of the 991. I would not be able to get the car without full leather, it just looks too cheap and would piss me the f*** off down the road.

I created a thread to thank everyone here who posted about new parts, DIY, very constructive posts, which I read for 5 years, I wanted to thank the mods, the people who posted such info,(subzero, pencilgeek, south) many are no longer here but they who helped me pick which upgrades for my M3, how to set up my equalizer for optimal sound, etc. I know some about M3's, I've driven them for over a decade as a DD, got my first M3 e46 at 20, in 2001, awesome car, I have a couple of trips to M school, track days, all really cool, I loved my M3, we all agree it's a fantastic car, we all bought it, but let's not confuse things, the one that wouldn't hold the candle, is the M3. I wanted to share with my fellow M3 owners the car I just bought, and I'm so happy about it.
I didn't, since my first post tried to start a flame war, I respect your opinion about the M3 vs 991, but I dont care about which is what, sound, handling, we all cherish what we drive, we love cars, GTR's, Z06, M3, M6, P-cars, all of them, that's what it is all about, the love, passion for cars, and to recognize each car has it's own merits as it has it flaws, we buy what we want to drive, and work hard for what we want to drive later down the road,
thanks for all the support guys, love this forum, thanks again

Congrats on the new 991. Don't let the jealousy of the fanbois ruin it. I am a former e92 m3 owner as well, 2009 and 2011. Still come on the forum but dont see the same old members I used to see. Hang out now on NAGTROC (GT-R) I myself am waiting for the 991 GT3 already told my GM I want one. If you enjoy the car, that's all that matters.

Thanks Optherion, I remember you, nice, awesome cars, I thought there was no one left from 2007-2009, the 991 GT3 will be a beast, there's a couple of vids at 6PO about how it has PDK, you can hear the gear changes so fast, I just wanted to say thanks to some guys, like swamp, south, pencilgeek, subzero, who helped so much, but wow this forum has changed

thanks guys,
just for the joy of it, I recommend you test drive one, and don't be guided by magazines or videos, just try it out, and be the judge
No Justification required whatsoever - you made the logical progression

That's an excellent choice I will consider one down the line at some point

Ugly. The coast of my town is under water as usual, my sailboat is sitting higher than the land. So everything is ok here, south of New Orleans the water is to the second story of the houses. Luckily its only a Cat 1 but it'a moving at 6mph so we'll be dumped on for 24 more hours. In case anyone was wondering, the Z4 is doing great, and my neighbor's E92 is as well! Happy Katrinaversary yall!

Congrats! M3s are great cars, but the 991S has had absolutely stellar reviews and should give you even more driver enjoyment. Maybe you'll be back in a few years for the F82 but in the meantime you have bought an amazing machine.

Felicidades Chino!
I also look back fondly at the comaraderie during the good 'ol days, so it's sad to see another long-time member go.
Enjoy the 991S and be sure to post a pic or two of that awesome machine after November.
Salud!
