KW Clubsports, Apex Arc, BFG R1...Nice.

Had my first session at PIR today with the above complete set up. Wet, sunny, windy, dry, wet again...it's Oregon.

KW Clubsports settings (standard recommended) track settings:
Camber- 2.6 F, -2.3 R
Ride height: 590mm F, 580 R (from lower rim edge to arch)
Track -17 F, +17 R.
Bump: 6 open F/R
Rebound: 6/9 F/R
I did manage a couple of mostly dry sessions with great results. The car rotates really well! Corner speed and exit was great. Lots of feedback also. The set up was really responsive.
Wheels: 18-9.5/10.5 Apex in Hyper Black. No rubbing anywhere, even with the above drop. Nice n' light. Great service and advice also from Eddy at Apex.
Tires: BFG R1, 265/35 R18/285/30 R18. Once the heat was in after 2-3 (dry) laps ('interesting' in the wet)... it was like a switch flipping on!
Saved 4 seconds on this inaugural run out. Really pleased!

Thanks for posting the specifications of your setup and the pics! Sounds like there's a decent amount of time to be had on a full dry day.

Nice choices. Ain't it a beautiful thing to drive a properly setup car?
Enjoy.

Nice set up.
Are you happy with the KW CS kit?? Did you track the car with the stock or other suspension prior to the KW CS?

See also my reply to your pm.
prior to this set up i tracked it regularly with standard suspension.

as mentioned in the pm, these KW Clubsports were ordered from a renowned German Tuner and distributor: http://www.a-workx.com/ They worked directly with KW to customize the spring rates specifically for their E92. i can't recall the spring specs, but will post these when i get them.
Cheers.

Nice setup. How do the KW CS feel on the street? How is the ride compared to stock?

Hmm... they are week 13/09. just got them from Tirerack. Interested to know pov from folks here...i am guessing this is OK.

Started at 31 PSI all around, didn't get the chance to take pressures after...rain. always next time.

These awork-x CS are a different spring rate to regular ones (500/800 I believe). I have a note to Florian at a-workx for the spring specs, will post soon...

I ask about the DOT dates on those BFG R1 285s because we had 2 failures on track and they were very odd = no explosions, no tell-tale signs ..... one seperated from its sidewall on the inside of the passenger's side and the other stripped itself to the cord on the outside of the driver's side. They were both manuf. 2007

I ran 32-36 cold and saw up to 44 hot = this was at the suggestion of Michelin's Motorsport Engineer (Michelin owns BFG).

There are some BMWCCA e36/e46 guys that complain about the progressive springs that come with the KW CS and have them replaced with linear springs of the same weight. Can you confim the rate and if they are linear vs. progressive?

CS normally come with linear and V3s come with progressive rate springs I think.

Fronts are all linear. Rear could be progressive depending on the model. E9x is linear/linear.
