Oh, ok so I say that I would take the 997 turbo over the GTR and that makes me a Porsche fanboi. Got it. Great logic. Take a look at my signature line and then ask yourself if I'm a fanboi of a particular brand. I've owned/own euro cars, american cars and japanese cars but I'm a Porsche fanboi in your mind huh? Jesus Christ, some of you people on here are borderline fucking retarded.
No need to get angry. Everything will be alright. I promise. It's ok to be a Porsche "fanboi." It may not be exactly $100,000+ but very close. No need to have a coronary and be rushed to the ER.

A new GT-R is $90K. That is still a $60K difference which is huge (enough for an additional M3). If one were to look for a used 1yr old 911t then it can be said a similarly used GT-R will run you $65K. Bigger savings even, at almost 1/2 price.
Wanna bet? There are many many that won't pay $150K for a brand new 911TT when you can get CPO for $115K, under 15k miles. The warranty is just as long as that of a new GTR and with a much more mod friendly environment. Even if I had the $$$ for a $150K brand new 997TT, I'd opt for a barely used 1 or 2 year old one and save $30-40K.

If you think $150K is very close to $190K then so be it. I pity your math teacher

Sigh you didn't read the entire post. Out the door. Tax, tag, title, delivery fee, etc. I'm actually a Porsche fanboi.

Give me a break --- you missed the target price by 35%+/-; hardly close. Taxes, etc. don't bring the out the door cost anywhere close to $190K. On top of that, last time I checked you have those same taxes, etc on top of the price tag of a $91K GT-R as well.

Did someone forget to take their meds. you sir (Alms211) are angry, calm down. Everyone here has the right to post and have an opinion. GTR or Porsche both great vehicles but yes there is a major price difference for equal performance.

Just admit that you failed miserably on the $190K price you just threw out there

What does a GT-R have that a base 997TT doesn't. .....well, other than the video game buttons/screens

i disagree with ALMS here.

the argument of buying a used turbo vs a brand new gtr doesn't make sense. one could say they would buy a used gtr for 60-70k too. i rather buy a brand new car than a used one everytime if i can afford it. a used car has less/zero warranty, previous owner might abused it, and at the end of the day, it has already been used by someone. pay 100+k for a car and you still feel it was used by someone else already is not a good feeling IMO.

a fully load GTR premium which included all the options such as NAV, premium audio, etc is just 90k. so there is 51k different in price, that is not a small different IMO consider the turbo doesn't handle as well as the gtr and is actually slower than the GTR around the track. only the turbo S can match it. But the turbo S is pushing 170k easily.

i configured a brand new turbo with equivalent option to a gtr and it came up to 151k. notice i didn't even go crazy with all the nonsense options yet. e.g. i didn't upgrade the seats, there is no rear parking camera, etc.

I couldn't rationalize the gap when the '12 GTR came out but it wasn't even close to $100k(let alone on a regular Turbo).

Oh I know. I'm just trolling and pissing off Alms since he got so angry and bothered for no reason.

....all of a sudden "Oh yeah, I know" and you were "just trolling". Yeah, sure you were Just like on your post (#69) where you emphatically said the delta was $100K.

Just admit you had no fucking idea what you were talking about (as usual) and try to save some level of respect for Christsake. You are a disgrace.
