Hawk Performance brake pads
Hello everyone,
They have spoken to me very well about these brake pads. I would like to know your opinion and if you recommend any specific model or any other brand. From time to time I participate in some other track day, but mostly street use. I say this because normally the cold racing brake pads squeal a little. Regards! |

Some love them, I won't run them on the m3 because the powerstop track day pads are good enough for my use, far cheaper, and don't rust/eat my wheels like some of the Hawks do

I have been running Hawk HPS on all my street cars for over a decade. Never had any issues, always happy with the performance. Only drawback is they are a little dusty.

Which specific pad? They sell a huge range from street pads to race pads. How many track days are you doing per year? Race pads (such as the Hawk DTC series) will squeal on the street because they are not designed to work at low temperatures.

Try a ceramic pad. The dust will be lighter in color which makes it harder to see. You'll give up a bit of performance but on the street it likely won't matter much. The rust thing has to do with certain pad compounds, especially once the car gets wet. Not a whole lot you can do other than rinsing the wheels off frequently.

Well, the track entered 3-4 times a year, not much. I prefer to lose a bit of performance and not to squeal cold

3-4 track days will probably use up one set of race pads. I say just buy a set of DTCs and swap them in, then go back to something basic for the street.

Interested to hear more about the powerstop trackday pads...do you swap them for track days, or run them all the time?

Hard to say without knowing the track(s) you frequent, car setup, driving style, level of skill, etc. I would suggest you call Dave Zeckhausen @ Zeckhausen Racing and discuss with him. https://www.zeckhausen.com/
For the street, I would just get a ceramic pad for its low dust properties. Hawk makes a ceramic pad, as do Akebono and Posi-Quiet.
