My rims

These are by far the most difficult rims I have ever tried to wash. Any suggetions on brushes techniques to was the 20 spoke rims on most M3s?

Look into the EZ Detail brush large and mini, and a Swissvax wheel brush. You can also use SONAX Full Effect as a safe wheel cleaner.

I wash them with a normal mitt. It's not THAT hard but yea it gets annoying. I'm going to invest in the 5l sonax on my next detailing shopping spree

Take em off and get some aftermarket wheels that are easier to clean. Its a good excuse for the wife.

i use the daytona speed master brush.

I use one of these microfiber wax applicator pads to get in between the spokes. Still have to use the fingers but it works well and gets into small spaces.

I just use one of my older microfiber wash mitts. It gets in there nice and deep like (lol) and it is good enough to make the wheels look nice.

Oh, and +1 on the SONAX cleaner. Haven't been able to find anything that cleans as good as that stuff. As with all wheels, the dirtier they are the more scrubbing you'll need, but the SONAX makes it wipe off with one quick swipe.

If you're looking for a spray and rinse perfect cleaner, I don't think you'll ever find one though, and with these wheels you'll never get that accomplished.

I guess it depends on the wheel, but I think a wheel cleaner like sonax is only necessary for very dirty, neglected wheels. For something regularly maintained, a bit of a waste of money IMO.

absolutely not. It cuts the time needed to clean wheels by more than half. Also it gets all the way to the back of the wheel which you cannot reach just by hand.

Well I usually wash the car once a week so the rims don't get horribly dirty. Does it help sure, but still need to use a brush and/or rag regardless. For me, regular car wash soap gets them nice and clean.
