It shares the garage with a GT3. Greatest car I have ever driven/owned.

FWIW, I've been driving exciting sports cars since about 28 (RX7 TT) and started making decent money. If driving is your passion and you can find the balance between planning for your future and enjoying your life right now, I recommend it highly. I've watched too many people die young and never really live to not have it affect my life choices. I have never once regretted my choices either.
are you hiring? lol

I've been at the major studios doing FP&A for a while now.

Hmm interesting thought. I'm 26, and I need a new car right now and am trying to decide if I should go for my dream car (M3) or a more reasonable car (335). I can afford a used M3 ~$35k, but it's hard to spend that much money since it would be the biggest single purchase of my life (other than college), and my retirement savings would take a bit of a hit. Robotics engineer for NASA, pay isn't the best :/ but work is cool.

I was in the same predicament as you a few months ago, at the same age.......to buy the more reasonable car or the car of my dreams?

I remember sitting at Starbucks looking at M3s on my laptop and there was an older guy next to me who caught a glimpse at what I was looking at. He asked me if I was buying one and I had told him "maybe, but i'm not sure I should yet." I'll never forget this moment, but he leaned over a bit more and said to me "kid, there's a lot of things I wish I did when I had the chance, don't let this be one those things for you."

If you can afford it and not cripple your finances, life is too short not to buy it.

You will always regret it if you settle - every time an M3 drives by, it'll slowly eat away at you. I bought an SLK-350 because I was impatient and didn't wait for the right SLK-55 AMG model to cross my path, and I've always regretted it.

Life is short, and you never know what might happen to you in a few years. Enjoy it while it lasts
