Yeah, there are a couple days at Mosport Aug 27, 28, which a lot of us will be attending. Here's a link to the site: http://www.dixiefordspeedshop.com/re...endezvous.html

It's run by Phoenix CMR, and they organize really good days. You'll see a good mix of cars at the event, and lots of track time.

Can't wait for the Mosport day! Shizzle, did you sign up for the intermediate or advanced group? I was in advanced last year, and was one of the faster cars out there - the crowd was not nearly as hard-core as the one that came to WGI.

I asked to start in intermediate, and then move to advanced depending on what the sessions look like. I think i've done enough days at Mosport now and feel pretty comfortable there. Just got to get my shift points down. I found that when I started moving faster at WGI I was being held up a fair bit.

The Montreal crew will come to Mosport on the 7 - 8 - 9 of September with Trillium.

We are not planning on being simple slow moving chicanes.

I thought that they encouraged you to drive slow at those events,so I guess you fit right in

That black M3 on your video was pretty fast :-).

I have a very sore back now, just like after WGI - I am too thin for the seats and being thrown around the cabin like a ragdoll. Recently someone found out that Scroth QuickFit from Mini works in M3 just fine:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=227

Would you recommend something like that for keeping me attached to the seat? I am not hoping for better safety from it, but would probably avoid it if it's less safe than stock seatbelt.

I'll post videos as soon as I get a chance, but i'm pretty annoyed with myself. I thought my times went down as the day progressed as I got my tire pressures sorted, but it turned out that my times got slower after my second set of adjustments in the afternoon.

Similar situation there - my best was 0.8 second off my previous personal best, and average was at least a second slower. Can you see on the log where you were losing speed? It may be that the pressures did not work or your reaction to change in car feel or just fatigue.

For me it was 1) braking much earlier than normally (probably looked at Mustangs and followed their example); 2) the late single apex in 8 is almost .4 seconds slower than double-apex (diagonal braking to the first curb, coming away, and then accelerating to the second curb); 3) now this one is a mystery - I had higher exit speeds out of 5 B than ever before, but then by the end of the back straight I was slower by about 8-10km/h - not sure how it's possible given that I did not lift - heatsoak, dirty air filter?

I found that I was having grip issues yesterday with my NT05's also. The track was very green as there were only motorcycles for the last 2 weeks and lots of rain on Monday. There was a strong headwind going up the straight which might have been your speed issue.

I'm pretty sure it was me just being too aggressive with lowering the psi. I don't have any telemetry, but based on the video it looks like I was scrubbing off speed in the turns much more with the lower tire pressures. So even though I was getting on the throttle more/earlier, it was just to compensate for less speed into the apex. My best times were in the 1:46.x range.

I'm thinking i'm at the point where I need to run in the advanced group so I can see and learn more of what you folks are doing. I lapped almost everyone in the intermediate group, so i'm not sure I can learn much more there.

Oh, and I know I'm losing a ton of time through 5. I was seriously timid, so after downshifting for 5a, i'd basically coast up the hill, give a little through 5b and was super gentle on the throttle through 5c-6. I can't catch my car fully yet, and didn't want to get into a tank slapper on that part of the track.

Try following Duncan around. There is always a strong breeze in the opposite direction he is travelling. Even when he is standing still....

You definitely should be lapping in the Advanced Group at this point. You will learn more and accelerate the learning curve. Its not just about pace.

Yep a move to the Advanced group might not be a bad idea. You will learn a lot more watching faster people who are hopefully driving proper lines that you can learn off of.

I hope so too! I've never seen so many cars take crazy wide lines through 2. I was taught from day 1 that turn 2 at Mosport was a double apex!

Edit: Here's some video from one of my quicker sessions.
