RE11 Sizing
Starting to think about my next set of tires. I am staying on my stock 19" wheels and I would use them for about 3 track days a year and daily driving.
My first choice is Potenza RE11, but I'm not sure on sizing. Will the 285/35/19 fit on the stock wheel without rub? I would really like a solid confirmation on this before I order. Front, I'm thinking 255/35/19. I have stock suspension and 10mm spacers now. Other option would be stock back 265/35 and wider front 255/35. Or same as stock all around. I would like to go wider for the track if possible. They make a 275/30, but that is a significant change in circumference - over 3%. |

285 on a 9.5" wheel would be slightly too wide and the tires will be very fat. I suggest going a size smaller (275) if available. I can't be sure whether it will rub or not. If you still want to go a wider tire, you might consider going a profile smaller 285/30/19 if it is available in that size. To be honest, I suggest staying closer to stock dimensions and not going too wide because there's no reason for you to do so unless you track your car enough.
The extra grip you get from a wider tire is not warranted for street driving; additionally you would have to think of the extra cost that comes with it. But that's my personal opinion. Look out for AD08s as well, the sizing might fit our car a lot better. |
