Something wrong with my auto dim?

Sometimes at night I'll have a car behind me with bright lights on glaring in my driver's side view mirror and it does not dim AT ALL.

Other times it's dim.

It seems very inconsistent.

Also, my passenger mirror does not dim at all. Wasn't sure if that's just how the car is or if there's a problem. Both mirrors dimmed on my 325i E90.

I could be wrong, but I believe "auto-dimming" mirrors are only included as an option- not sure which one. But assuming that you do have them, then there may be something wrong with them. You should be able to tell quite easily when they are on/off... there's a fine rim (not dimming) around it.

Yes I have them. Like I said, they go on - but it seems inconsistent. I've been in several situations where there's a car blaring their high beams behind me and they don't go on.

Then I have no idea of what it can be... Maybe you just got a riff raff mirror version.
