Question AW e90 - Competition Package wheel in silver or gunmetal?

I am looking to pick up a set of comp wheels for my LCI e90 m3 that is Alpine white. I have lightly tinted windows and black grills. I also have the dinan muffler, so I have black exhaust tips. So basically, other than the m3 emblem, there is no "chrome" or silver on my car (thankfully, I really hate chrome). All black or white on the car at this point.

I am struggling with whether I should stick with the OEM finish on these wheels or go with some sort of light or moderate gunmetal powdercoat.

I will also have eibach springs on the car, so it will be slightly dropped.

Help me decide on what to do here, thanks. I havent really been able to find any pictures of gunmetal zcp wheels on an AW m3.

Thanks for your help!

Since they're only available in silver and black, staying in silver stock color would be better.
I know replica zcp wheels come in gunmetal. Some people "may" think yours is replica if gunmetal powder coated.

Go gunmetal and powdercoat them. Try something different.

Have you changed your mind already? Did you rethink the BBS wheels and opt for these? The ZCP wheels look really good in Black on AW. Here's a photo of a local members car. He has a similar set up as you ...including the Dinan exhaust...........Phil

I am really starting to like gunmetal on AW cars. GM on those wheels? Sweet.

that does look pretty good, im just afraid I will get tired of the black wheel look. kind of too modified looking maybe?

rgr deal fell through unfortunately

AS for the gunmetal wheels, im leaning that way too to add a bit of contrast and stick with my theme.....what would really help is if anyone had some pics of gunmetal zcp on AW!

I vote gunmetal. I think matte black wheels are a little too aggressive on a white car and silver wheels are a little too understated; the gunmetal makes for a nice compromise (and will be easier to keep clean than the silver).

I have some VMR v710's that I had powdercoated anthracite; I like them.

Go gunmetal. Black seems to clash too much, particularly with white cars. Black is also a little overdone and played out.

Agreed to some extent. Played out and overdone. I don't think it clashes too much though. Just needs to be done tastefully. That being said i vote for gunmetal. Great combo IMO.

Replica Competition wheels come in other colors from factory and they're not too expensive, I'd probably suggest those instead so that if you want silver wheels on later, you can just put the stock wheels back on.

The face of the 220Ms are quite silver and in no way look light gunmetal IMO, that being said I do think they look good and getting them powder coated would be good

Here's Genetals E90 w/stock ZCP's & the one posted above for comparison.

On the fence, but think the black wheels would get old. They look washed out. Silver looks better IMO -

Agreed with the comments about the black wheels. Maybe a little much for me.

I wish I could see some pics of gunmetal zcps. I really am leaning that way but am nervous that the finish may not look right

God that white E90M with silver 359Ms looks clean. If I had to do it all over again, that would likely be the way I'd go.

I would go silver 359's if you want to stay with 19" I had a 2009 AW E90 M3 with silver 359's. I liked the look a lot.

If you can, go with 18" for the performance and ride improvement. Silver EC-7's would look great. This would be my first choice.

Go with black if you have a BBK, silver if you have stock brakes.

Black wheels are cool, but, hard to see the detail from a distance.

I think if you really want to show off the wheel, you need to go somewhere between gunmetal and silver.

I am looking into getting some silver zcp's on my AW e92. Agreed , I think the black is played out and too much contrast. With a little drop and the zcp's ,I think that is the best look.
