spec E92 M3 racing at its finest!

i'm in...

p.s. what's up with the random fishtailing on force feedback? i am wondering if there is something wrong with my wheel? cars kind of start fish tailing even when driving straight and steady if i don't correct for it. anyone else with this issue (it's not a suspension setting problem as it happens on pretty much any stock car)...

Looks like I will have to get back to this game (but I do have an M3!). I am out of town until next week though. My username is the same as here.

Lucid, A friend of mine lent me a logitech wheel a couple of years to try with GT4, I had the same problem you describe, sounds like it is the wheel. I just bought a wheel for myself a little while ago and do not have any problems at all.

That sucks. It works very well with F1 2010, so I must assume it is not compatible with GT5. I will need to turn force feedback off because it is very annoying. The thing is it's logitech's newest wheel. G27. Oh well...

I need to go buy a E92 M3.

Have you guys decided on specs?

I'll get going on this. I was having an F1 2010 sess last night.

I am thinking stock engine, soft racing tires and non-adjustable suspension upgrade - for two reasons... a) it is about virtual driving, not who can set the car up best and b) I am no where near being able to set up the fully adjustable suspension anyway! LOL

I don't think there is anything wrong with the hardware/wheel. I am happy with it. Doesn't sound like GT5 is interfacing with it properly.

I read this another forum on a GT5 related thread, and thought it was pretty funny. The guy who posted it is legit:

"This discussion reminds me of a situation at Lime Rock a few years ago. A licensed driver who had never been there before took me for a ride in his heavy but fast street car. After a few laps, I suggested that he might want to get into the habit of tapping the brakes a bit just before turning in for the uphill. He said “I’ve got thousands of laps logged here in GT (or iracing, or Forza, I don’t remember which it was) and I turn 1:02s and I don’t use brakes there.”
I told him good luck as I got out of the car. A few hours later he landed on his roof, just at the entrance to the uphill."

Friend requests gone out

Folks - I sent out friend requests just now. There are 5 of us so far. We'll see if we can get a few more. Just post here or friend me on PS3

We need to agree a spec, so offer suggestions. I think we should run fairly close to GT5 stock to start and then agree changes as we go. Thoughts?

Cheers

League Specs

Here we go - I was thinking about 'straightforward' mods discussed on the forum:

Everything standard, except:

Intake: Racing Air Filter
Exhaust: Ti Racing Exhaust (we all have 10K for an exhaust right???)
Exhaust: Sports Catalytic Converter
Clutch: Twin Plate (the stock manual has dual plates)
Suspension: Non adjustable sports kit
Tires: Sports Soft
Engine: ECU Stage 1

Does this make sense?

No cheating - don't be a douche!

I need to win a couple of races to get the dough for the missing bits.

I think the height adjustable sports kit allows for some minor camber, damper and spring adjustment as well. Maybe it is best to leave suspension stock or at the non-adjustable sports kit level?

I don't care too much about powertrain mods. I'll go with whatever you guys decide. But I think the bolt-on power gains are somewhat over the top...

I can send some M3s to fellow posters. To get this thing started quickly. Of course, I don't like driving the M3 in GT5, its too slow and heavy even after being modded to the max.

This gives ~467HP, but if we all have the same car, it shouldn't matter.

Any rim style you like. I have the first BBS ones on the list, painted a nice red! LOL
