Selling my M3

After a little more than 3 years of fun with my M3, I've decided to sell her. She still puts a smile on my face every day, but I've decided to get something a little more practical (4 doors) and a little less expensive as a daily driver.

If anyone in the Houston/Austin/Dallas area is interested in trading their stock wheels or exhaust plus some cash for either my Dinan exhaust (approximately 20k miles) or my gunmetal RAC RG63 wheels (approximately 10k miles) w/ Michelin Pilot Supersport tires (approximately 800 miles), let me know. Otherwise, they'll go with the car in the next few weeks.

In any event, been good hanging with you Houston guys (sorry I couldn't make it out to any of the track days), and hopefully I'll see you around town.

I will buy the zcp, gloss grills, gills (send you my oem or matte black), I would buy your front bumper but it is blue Anything else you can just rip off and send, I might be into...or meet half way? get the last few legs out of it before sale?

Tom - sorry to hear you're selling your car. You were one of the pioneers for E92 M3 modding I read a lot of your posts before taking the mod plunge.

Here's the basics on the RG63's: They are 19X9 ET22 & 19X10 ET22, Approx. 20 & 21 lbs., meet JWL/VIA specifications, and are designed to fit the E9X M3 specifically. The wheels (designed by Ralph Sheppard) are 8,000 ton forgings made by Taneisya in Japan who also makes Dinan, Neez and Champion wheels. Approximately 50 sets were made. They are top of the food chain quality. Unfortunately, it appears that both of the RAC group buy threads have been unpublished.

Pictures of Tom's car are here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=RAC+group+buy. He'll have to tell you about the current condition of the wheels.

See calintexas's excellent post, which provides the details you're looking for. Last time I checked, the wheels are in flawless condition, but I will go over them with a fine tooth comb this weekend to confirm. I am currently weighing a couple of offers for the car as is (which I would prefer for simplicity's sake), but I will keep you posted by this weekend whether I'll end up parting out the car.

Thanks a lot for posting that detailed info for me. The RAC RG63s are incredible and easily my favorite part of the car. Not only do they look incredible, but they are amazingly strong and light.

Thanks, guys. It looks like I'll be getting into a 2012 VW Golf R. Little more practicality and a little cheaper to drive and maintain, but still a lot of fun and I won't be paranoid about driving it around town. If I do return to a higher end sports car down the road, it will be a more dedicated performance/weekend fun car. The M3 is as good of a balance between daily driver and track machine that you're going to find, but for my needs, I'm better off splitting up those duties.

Thanks for all the really kind words from the Houston and Dallas BMW guys that I've met over the years. It's been a real pleasure meeting and getting to know you guys, and I hope I'll continue to run into you guys at Coffee and Cars, the track, or around town.

I may be able to make it for at least a little while.

Btw, I've got a Thule roof-mounted rack (bolts into existing slots in roof) and bike trays, if anyone in the area is interested. Excellent condition.

She was hot too! There's no going back and I doubt she would give you a second chance anyway.
