Question Anyone upset about the facelift?

This has not been discussed, but is anyone upset (those that have ordered a car) that in 2009 the coupe and sedan get minor revisions including LED lights?

I am sort of upset, but figure this can be fixed by simply buying the lights.

Meh, i dont care too much. As long as its not a new engine or something big. Minor updates can always be upgraded...

Nothing has been announced yet.
BMW usually facelifts a car after 3 1/2 years of its life cycle. E92 came out in fall '06, means the facelift's due in spring '10...

Only car getting a facelift for 09, as far as I know, is the standard E90 3er.

Just saw that OP mentioned the sedan also, which probably gets a facelift this fall. How much this affects the M3 sedan is questionable, though.

I'm talking about the 3 series in general. Some parts (like rear lights) may be facelifted on the M3 also. I think a facelift ala M5 E60 (e.g. LED rear lights) will come for the Coupe also. No more (IMO), no less.

Yes, but where has the OP info been confirmed? Specifics like the LED tails?

Nothing's been confirmed, just what Swamp would call an educated guess.

I seriously doubt we'll see a one year run of the current taillights, a short model run for the US at that. I hope they wait because I don't want 'em.

E46 went 3 years before taillight update. Whenever it happens, taillights would probably be easy to swap out if one is so inclined. Doubt they'll change the sheetmetal around them. BTW, taillight change would be called a butt lift, not face lift!

I can't be changing out the seat bottoms, taillights and split armrest on my brand new car now.

They already have LED taillights. So can you clarify?

Brakes and turns are not LED, as on the '03.5 E46, but I haven't seen the rumors myself. Where did you see this Cosmos?

Turn signals are NOT LED and either are the front turn signals.

Best regards, south
The E46 Coupe was facelifted during the M3's lifetime and kept the original front-end, so I don't expect standard 3er updates to affect the M3s.
