255 and 295..
What you guys think of tire sizes 255/35/19 front and 295/30/19 rear? Think it will cause too much understeer?
Right now I'm at 285/30 rear, and from a performance standpoint it feels great, but knowing that my car is racking up miles quicker than normal, and my speedometer is even more off, it bothers me. I'm afraid to go 285/35 because it may look "too big." What's everyone opinion on this? Should I go 285/35/19 or 295/30/19?

I can't comment on understeer, but I can comment on the tire sizes. I tried installing BFG KDW 255/35/19 and 285/35/19 tires on a set of 19x8.5 and 19x10 wheels with an offset of ET15 on the front and rear. The car is currently at stock ride height, and the tires would not clear on the front or rear. I know that the offset is aggressive, but it was rubbing bad enough on the front that it was melting the inner fender liner when I turned. For the rear, it would rub when I went over bumps. I drove the wheels and tires a whopping 5 miles before pulling them off. I'm told that the larger tires combined with the offset is what killed me. With a less aggressive offset, they may clear.
I will have some pics up later today of the setup on the Linea Corse Dyna wheels, so look for the thread! FYI, I'm selling the tires for $800 if you're looking for a set. I'm going to try a less aggressive setup to see how that works. Trevor

I think the amount of miles added is so minimal over the course of ownership, that it's not even worth talking about really.

I have 255/35/19 up front Nitto INVO's with a +22 offset. It only rubs if I turn the wheel 100% left or right.
I'm just thinking whats best for the back, and what's best for performance (285 or 295)

Anybody have any ACTUAL experience with regards to under/oversteer changes with this set-up. All I have seen is speculation, even on the thread I started on this a while back.
I mean your are NOT adding all that much extra in the back if you upping the front up one size. I know changing swaybars and changing dampning in the shocks can change it a lot, but really how much can adding 1/2 an inch of contact patch really change all that much? Especially considering that the tire is not sitting flush under hard cornering anyways, you are on the outer edges of the contact patch. Anybody with any REAL WORLD experience?

I am going with 255/35/19 and 295/30/19 on my HRE P40 wheels. They are due in in about 2 to 3 weeks, after they are on and the tires broken in a little, I will give a report back.
I am a little worried about this too, but I am hoping it is all overrated about how much it will change things. Matt @ HRE assured me that many of his racing customers are using this set-up on their M3's and he has had no complaints. So, I think the judgment is still out, I will give a report though after they are on and I have some miles on them, that is still about 6 to 8 weeks out though. Trust me I do wish I knew the real answer to this question though before I plucked down thousands of dollars on wheels and tires. It would have been a lot cheaper to buy OEM 19's However from a visual standpoint there is no denying that the P40 in those sizes look bad ass. I am putting my trust in HRE and that they know what they are talking about on this one.

The thread starter is already don't like the 285/30/19....295/30/19 gives VERY slight increase over the 285/30 which is NOT significant enough to solve his issue. |

Compared to stock there is only a .3 inch difference in diameter as shown below: Stock Tire: 265/35/19 Sidewall: 3.7 in. Radius: 13.2 in. Diameter: 26.3 in. Circumference: 82.6 in. New Size 295/30/19 Sidewall: 3.5 in. Radius: 13.0 in. Diameter: 26.0 in. Circumference: 81.6 in. And both top tires are avail.

my setup is 19s.... 265 and 295.... i noticed a slight loss of balance (lost that sharpness in the front) but of course a overall gain of mechanical grip... next time i will squeeze a 275 up front and maby go with a 285 in the rear.... for slight OS 80+ |

My vendor (+20 years in the mech./car show level) suggested I go with NITTO Invo245/30 and
295/25 on 20" 9" - 10.5" width rims So adjust accordingly? |

Would 295 fit on a 10" rim? I'm thinking about going 295/30 on my next set of rears up from 285/30, while keeping the 255/35 up front.

I'm running 19x9 +22 front, with 255/35 with NO rubbing unless it's a complete U-Turn going down a hill.
I'm running 19x10 +20 rear, with 285/30 with NO rubbing ever, including a fully loaded car of guys weighing 150-200lbs. Anyone know if 19x10 and 295/30 will fit?
