Question Back brake reset tried everything I could find

Hi everyone!

I hope someone here can help me resolve an issue that I'm having resetting the back brake service indicator. I replaced the back brakes and reset the indicator and it resets. However, it will only reset to 9000 more miles. I have followed every step I could find on the boards and Youtube and nothing works. I have jumped the leads, crossed the wires on the old sensor, replaced the new sensor with another new sensor and nothing will allow me to reset to more that 9k miles on the rear. I have called a few dealers close to me, but they all ltell me I have a bad sensor and that's or I did something wrong which is BS and want to charge me $145 just to do something I'm missing during the reset. Please help!!!!

When I replaces the brakes I replaced all of them and the front reset, but thinking back the back would never reset to more that 9k miles

Did you check the sensor installation and ensure it is properly secured at the pig tail and on the pad?

If you have a new sensor in, it is probably because the last time you changed or reset the sensor, it "learned" that the maximum miles is 9000 miles. Probably because you tried to jump the cables and then re-plugged in the old sensor.

Don't worry too much about it. The 9000 miles is an estimate and it won't really change much until the sensor actually wears down. I've seen it where it still says 9000 miles after 9000 miles because the sensor hasn't worn down.

Thank you! I will keep an eye on it and see what happens.
