BBK is more cost effective.

The way this car eats up front padss (3 front sets Pagid yellows per one rear set). I think over the longterm a Big Brake Kit (stoptech) maybe be the long term cost effective route. Anyone else experiencing this?

BBK for 2400, is a no brainer at this point for me if the pads will last 5 events or more.

Appreciate any feedback.

Depends on your track experience and tracks you go to.
Same pads, same track different drivers = one will get 10 track days on same pads, the other will get 4 days.

For the most part ... a BBK will eat pads the same at the track.... maybe slightly better.

That is why I going with a BBK from day one on my 2011 Coupe.Life of my brakes became a lot better once I switched up to Pagid RS19's.

Are you running cooling ducts? Without them on a hot day at a brake intensive track you can go through a set of fronts on a heavy car like this.

No cooling ducts.I ran 3 1/2 days on the Pagids and the wear rate was very good with the brake balance shifting to rear as they got hot when you really pushed them hard for a few laps. They must have gotten fairly warm as all the yellow paint disappeared from the pads or is this normal with the Pagids?I will continue to run the Pagids on the new car which will have a BBK and some sort of proper brake cooling.

I've got a buddy who runs the same track with the stoptech kit (front only) with Pagid yellows. He claims to get 4-6 days out of the front pads. I guess, I've gotta jump in to proof it out.

Agreed, the fronts seem to be wearing so quickly, a BBK has to alleviate some of the problem.

No brake ducts, I haven't found a viable solution. Any suggestions?

I haven't even hit a "hot" day at the track yet. Of course, these are full open day events, so at least 4-5 hours of track time (45-50 minute sessions/or until I run outta of gas)

I've only used pagids on very light racecars and my Elise so it's not a good barometer but I've never had all of the paint burn off that I can remember. If you are losing torque they have been overheated. Pagid yellows have a pretty flat torque curve and do not fall off much until they are past op temp.

I ordered 10 feet of hose from porterfield and plan on building my own system once I get a chance. It's really not dificult and you can just zip tie the hose in place, that will make a huge difference. On my e46 M3 I would go through a set of pads in one day at sebring in the summer before I got them cooled then they would last 4 to 5.

Bimmerworld sells a set of carbon fiber backing plates but they are $200 a piece. Not worth it imo. Dremel off your dust/rock guard and just run some hose. RRT used to make a kit with plates clamps and hose for the E46 but they don't seem to make anything for the E92 and I haven't found anyone else who does either. Most mods for the 92 are cosmetic it seems with few people really tracking this car. 22" wheels, carbon fiber splitters, blue angel eyes, check, proper track equipment not so much.

BINGO! My home track. I just can't understand why brake ducting is lacking on this car.

I agree as far as track equipment, still waiting on a quick-pro harness.

I made brake ducting on my 335i, by removing the fog lamps (essentially what BMW did for the "335is". BMW owes me royalties, however I'd gladly settle for a pair of GTS brackducts.

Probably for the same reason we don't have a proper fixed multi piston caliper setup... 99% of users of this car love to talk about its track prowess but never actually go to the track.

Moved from FL a couple of years ago and desperately miss Sebring and even moroso and homestead to some extent.

Do you run with chin?

I know there's a DIY on brake ducts, but is there anyone else that can post pics of their own systems

Think that bbk is something to work up to... Did pad swap and fluid change and worked well for a few events, but fried things on the last event of the season, which to me is a mark of achievement. (don't think it was bad brake management, just starting to outdrive the brakes). Really looking forward to the new setup and a new season!! 
