Exhaust Ideas?

I've been reading through threads here and other sites and gathering up as much info I could to make an educated decision on what I want to do with my exhaust, but I thought some of you could chime in with ideas to fit what I am looking for. I'm far from knowledgeable about the different options and know some of the members here are really good with this stuff.

The main goal is sound over power, while maintaining the OEM exhaust tips and not cutting up the OEM exhaust on the car now. I've been reading about rasp and drone, etc. and was curious what the best options are for getting a louder (but not obnoxious) sound while keeping things relatively simple. If it's loud when I step on it, that's bad ass too. I am not against a full exhaust setup with different tips, but I like the OEM look a lot!

Any suggestions?

I picked up a factory exhaust and did the oem mod on it myself, changed the tips, and put my original away for safe keeping. Very happy with it.

Actually a good idea. Where did you buy your second exhaust?

OEM/ACM with tips and test pipes. Perfect setup IMO.

Very nice, what was your reasoning for ACM over the other ways?

Which test pipes and tips? I love those tips!

I got one in perfect condition from another forum member close to me for a great price.

With the exception of the cold start the ACM mod's sound level is completely linear. Idle and under 2-3k RPM are basically stock while after 3 gets louder and after 5 it screams. However the key is the test pipe, the ACM alone is a bit too quiet for my taste but still very decent. I'm using turner TP's and Magnaflow 85mm tips.

Awesome! I like the louder cold start.

I was looking at the Turner test pipes too, seems to be a good match with the OEM mod.

Was there drone before the TP's installed?

I removed the stock secondary cats and resonators. The rest of the set up is stock (includes stock primary cats and muffler). It has absolutely zero drone and is pretty loud up top. It now has slight rasp above 5k, which I actually really like, and makes incredible sounds on downshifts. I actually have an identical stock x-pipe just sitting in my garage. If you want to try it out or hear the setup just let me know!
