This could have been far worse.

First, call it dumb luck that he went off the road where he did. If you look at the steering wheel angle, he is luck he lost grip and went straight off the road and had some large boulders slow him down rather than a 1000lb saguaro cactus fall on top of the car.

Second if he had gone off mid turn, the car would have more likely gone sideways, probably ending in a roll over situation. Maybe lose an arm or serious head injury.

Lastly, the circled area highlighting the WALL of boulders, would have been in the path if he didn't go straight off. The sudden deceleration would have been ugly.
Poor Kid,Thanks for the evaluation

I'm a very careful drive.. always had been, but that could have been me about 4 times when I first got my E90 6yrs ago. In different conditions.. rain... skinny roads... curvy unfamiliar roads with no barricades... running late.. but DSC kicked in each time. All i could remember was my heart jumping out my body saying "this is it" and the amber DSC blinking and the car turning and managing the power distribution thus helping the turn in the right way. Just like the commercials I remembered when growing up as a kid wanting a BMW. Yes he looked a bit stupid, but This could have been any of us.

Lords knows that when I was a youngster, I did my fair share of stupid shit in cars before I gained experience and proper car control. Hopefully, this kid will learn from his mistake and be the better for it.

It wouldn't have mattered how much he turned in, the elevation change lifted the cars weight of the front tires. If he knew the turn better he could've trail braked and loaded the front tires and did a more aggressive turn in.

I bet he has learned his lesson and he won't be attempting something like that again because his balls are still shriveled up. I know mine would be. We aren't standing up for the kid but we are just saying everyone makes mistakes. You learn from them. Yeah he didn't have the correct hand and seating positions but i'd be willing to put money down that many people on this forum and other car forums would screw up that corner driving at those speeds. I play forza and i have to rewind 10 times to get one corner good sometimes. SH1t happens. It's probably taught alot of us to be more careful including myself.

Cheers to a learning experience!

19. LOL! I'm not surprised. I did stupid crap in cars, but not in cars with 300+hp. It's a recipe for disaster.

For those who haven't seen it, here's the Cliff's Notes: Justin Beiber + e46 M3 + Arizona highway + GoPro cam = sails it into the dirt and blows airbag.
